Rituals (1977)

5 doctors ,on their annual getaway, are flown into the remote Canadian wilderness for some r & r. On their first night, all of their boots are stolen, save for the trip's organizer, who had brought an extra pair. He decides to traipse off to a distant dam to get some help. The others soon come to realize that someone is stalking them as things begin to escalate. This was a decent enough film, playing like a rip off of Deliverance, though slightly more horrific.

"Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers" (1988)

If only this movie was as awesome as its title!
While searching the mean streets of L.A. for a missing girl, a skid-row detective discovers a murderous religious cult of chainsaw-worshipping prostitutes (?), led by Gunnar "Leatherface" Hansen.
...yeah, that's the whole plot of this semi-legendary Z-grade horror comedy from schlockmeister Fred Olen Ray. This VHS era favorite is dumb as a box of rocks, but it's got quite a few pretty girls in it and they're frequently naked so therefore I was entertained.

"The Dance Of the Double Chainsaws!!!!"

My friend and I used to always make it a double feature by always watching this flick and "Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowlorama"

Doctor Strange (2016)

Benedict Cumberbatch as the arrogant neurosurgeon afflicted with nerve damage (and thus ruining his career) after a terrible auto accident. After all other means fail he seeks out the Ancient One for mystical aid, leading him down the path to become Earth's Sorcerer Supreme. This was a really good movie with a great cast and stellar reality bending visual effects.

Screamers (1995)

In the not too distant future, a planet that was once a mining hub is now a radioactive wasteland due to a civil war between the mining corporation and former scientists for the mining corp. The planet is overrun by "screamers", artificially intelligent self replicating machines programmed to kill any living thing which were originally used as weaponry in the war. The screamers are now out of control and evolving. Not a bad watch.

So that "Screamers" is definitely not this 80's VHS store "classic" that I know FF has seen:

The Americans - even more slow moving than usual, especially for a season premiere.
Modern Family - The show is definitely showing its age, a few chuckles here and there

Phantom Of The Opera (1943)

Nice Technicolor version of the classic tale, with Claude Rains as the title character. In this version, he's a violinist at the opera house who loses his job due to his dexterity debilitating. He murders a man he believes has stolen his music, gets acid thrown in his face and then the fun begins. I liked this version, even though it almost plays out like a musical to me.

The Blob (1958)

The classic movie starring Steve McQueen as a teen trying to stop the voracious gelatinous creature who arrives on Earth via a meteorite. This is a fun movie to watch. A more graphic remake came out in 1988 which was also pretty good

"Guardians Of The Galaxy" (2014)

A wise-ass space pirate and a crew of misfits must prevent a powerful artifact from falling into the hands of a very bad intergalactic villain. This fast, funny sci-fi shoot'em up from Marvel Studios has held up well to repeated viewings. Bring on "Volume 2" (this Summer)!

^^^^   Great flick!

I watched Silent Rage (1982), a strange but effective mish mash of a slasher/ action flick with Chuck Norris as a small town sheriff up against an indestructible mindless killer courtesy of a couple of mad scientists. Also stars Stephen "Flounder" Furst as Chuck's deputy.

"Terminal Force" (1989)
TODAY I WATCHED... (Movies, TV) 2017 - Page 14 Sm1873
(no trailer on YouTube)

Cheap cops & robbers nonsense from schlock kingpin Fred Olen Ray. A trigger-happy detective (onetime 50s/60s B-movie beefcake Richard Harrison, aging terribly) is taken off of suspension to track down a kidnapped girl whose brother is about to testify against the Mob. Yep, that's the whole plot. The flick is slow moving, talky and has very little action; Harrison sleepwalks through the entire movie. At least there were some cute girls in it, and since it's a Fred Olen Ray production, they get their boobs out frequently.
Avoid.

Another 1980s Richard Harrison film had one of the greatest VHS cases ever...

Babylon 5: S4, E2

Sheridan is "dead" and Molari is planning to assassinate the insane Centauri emperor.  This is the apex of the series IMO.

Started the 2nd season of 'The Missing' on Starz. Really good mystery program if you like that sorta thing. Kinda disturbing too. Especially if you have kids.

Zombie-When a missing scientist's boat turns up abandoned in NYC, his daughter and a reporter travel to a small island in the Caribbean to search for him, only to find a voodoo curse that causes the deceased to turn into the undead. Gut munching a plenty soon follows. Cult classic from the legendary Lucio Fulci. I give it three out of five chainsaws.

That's the one with the infamous eyeball into the splinter scene isn't it?

Indeed it is...and it's still tough to watch even to this day. (*squirm*)
