This Present Wasteland was released in 2008. It is Metal Church's ninth album and first to feature guitarist Rick Van Zandt. According to Wikipedia, the cover (a cross in barren land) was chosen from photos submitted in a MySpace contest. Also, according to Wikipedia, the album only sold 920 copies in the U.S. during the first week after its release. Metal Church would not release a new studio album until 2013.
It's a good album, but I don't think it will be one I'll play often after this poll (but the same goes for most of the albums I listen to for polls). My favorite songs are the final two "Breathe Again" and "Congregation." I also like "The Perfect Crime." I'm choosing "Breathe Again" because it just kicks ass and every time it comes on, I rock out!
