My worst experience was Whitecross, Scott Wenzel acted like he couldnt be bothered. I mean HELLO your standing at your merch table AFTER a show. I walked away feeling like I could cross off meeting one of my musical heros but at the same time it really felt tainted cuz of the negative experience. Havent seen them live since.

My best Experience however was when I saw Sixpence None the Richer, a band I liked, but after hearing their latest album and seeing them live really elevated it in my eyes and then after the show I got to talk to the band (minus their guitarist who was back on the bus) Leigh Nash I got to talk to for a couple minutes but it was hanging for 15-20 mins talking with the bassist that really put the experience on a high note. I would definitely go see them again live if they ever reunite again.

Meeting Lita Ford was cool and all but it was eh..... she seemed more friendly to my wife

I know of Sixpence and Leigh. How were they? Was the guitarist you refer to Matt Slocum? They seem like a pretty formidable duo and I've only heard some songs here and there, but a good band.

Lita's either a lesbian, or just a musician who is glad to see another woman who adores hard rock, or both. Either way, still cool to hear. Laughing

I've not really had an experience of bands being assholes. Nearly got into a fight with Tigertailz but it was my asshole cousin being an asshole, not the band.

Lita Ford is not a lesbian. She was in a girl band where just about every other member swung both ways (maybe not Joan who I don't think is into men at all) but there have been no rumours about Lita so I think that she's strickly d

The only somewhat negative encounter was with George Lynch. Dokken were promoting their then new album/reunion tour 'Dysfunctional' and did an instore signing at Ace's Records.

Don Dokken, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown were very cool, gracious to fans. Also those three guys were sitting together and George Lynch was by himself at table or two away.

I brought his solo album 'Sacred Groove' to sign, and I told him I liked it. He grunted, barely made eye contact with me or anyone else. Maybe he was having a bad day, but I did not make it much better, when I told him, yes I was the one guy who bought it and then I turned around to another fan after he signed it and asked if he wanted the CD.

Lita did comment during her show that she was a guitarasexual she didnt need a man or a woman just her guitars lol. Given what shes been going through with her ex its not surpsing

Yes Matt Slocum if he was there i would have had the entire band's signature. Sixpence Live was REALLY good easily one of the best live shows ive been to. (Well up there when i saw Roger Waters) The Bassist Justin I got to hang out with for like 15 to 20 mins. Talked music and family his relatives were at the show who live in CT so that was cool. Told him next time Sixpence comes this way that id be there. Leigh was great too but high in demand. Told her they did a great show and talked about TN weather lol. Told her i used to live in Murfreesboro she was familiar with it. heh

I actually bought the CD of one band I had a nasty argument with, but that was after I actually paid for it. The band was a shitty christian group which has now been forgotten. The members, mostly the men, were total smart asses and prone to evoking more trouble than would've been expected. They thought they were clever and funny, but weren't. I actually still have that CD which I barely ever played, and want to destroy it. I don't want someone getting their hands on it, but then I've thought the same thing about most CCM filth that has passed through my fingers. Unfortunately, this is the case with nearly every christian band I ever met and actually tried to interact with beyond the superficial (and almost all the concerts I've been to were christian rock, sadly). I don't want to get in to all my theological vexations with CCM in general, but that's that. I know our friend Ult here has also been shunned by one band which was ironically enough Christian too, and that was the Crucified. Read where he mentions the leader accusing him of idolatry.

Some people have had far worse experiences, though. Please let me know yours.

Man, I've met tons of Christian metal and rock bands over the 20+ years I was in Ultimatum and rarely found the band members to be douchy. Some of them have become life-long friends. Yes, I did have a bad encounter as a fan with The Crucified singer, but the rest of the band were all very cool.

I met Overkill a couple times and both times was shunned by Derek Tailer. The first time he was hanging oustide the tour bus with the rest of the band. I asked him to sign my CD, which all the other members had already gladly done. He said, "I have to make a phone call and will sign it after I'm done." I said, "ok cool, thanks." I hung around for a while and he just avoided the whole lot of us. I finally caught up to him later outside the club and he acted like a total douche and never would sign the CD. I hope I never acted like that to a fan at an Ultimatum concert. I can't ever remember treating a fan like that. I never refused an autograph. The second time Overkill were playing at Gigantour and were doing a CD signing at their table. You had to buy the CD at their table to get an autograph, which is cool. I had not problem with that. We waited in line for an hour or more. DD and Blitz were both cool. Both posed for pics with my son. Apparently Derek couldn't be bothered to even come out, unlike the other four members. It was a bit disappointing.

What's Derek's problem? The guy is just a replacement player that joined the band really late into their career. He should be grateful anyone gives a crap about him...
