Which Sabbath Next ?

Am thinking of another Sabbath purchase -
Any fans out there, have suggestions -
between Seventh Star, Tyr, Forbidden, Headless Cross

Headless Cross or Tyr.

i agree with BearOnUnicyle. Tyr is my favorite of the bunch, but you can't go wrong with it or Headless Cross.

I like Headless Cross just a hair above the others. As far as I'm concerned you can't really go wrong with any of them though.

Headless Cross is the best of the Martin era.

I would suggest Headless Cross.

I don't like Forbidden at all, the other all have some charm. I'd say HC by a smidge.

Seventh Star, the only one remastered in this list...

Unfortunately I have never heard any of the Martin records in full...I only have a cheapie "Best Of" to cover that era.

I do like Seventh Star quite a bit, I reacquired it a couple of years ago and it was better than I remembered.

Go for headless cross. My favourite sabbath album. Tony martin is an amazing singer and it shows well on this album.

Headless Cross definitely. I like all of theml.

I only have Seventh Star. It's not very good, imo.

All are good, but HC is probably the best overall.

The Tony Martin albums are possibly getting new deluxe editions though, right? Not sure when, but it could be worth holding out, in case there are good extras. Normally I don't care much about deluxe editions, but the Sabbath ones have been excellent.

I looked on Ebay, expecting a 5-6 dollar CD -
Headless Cross is expensive -
the cheapest comes from Moscow Russia -
and I'm 'not going there' - lol - after their airplane skims USA ship !

I am still awaiting Tyr to be reissued. Taking too long.

Don't buy from Moscow, guaranteed bootleg. I'm sure there are Russian collectors, with official prints to sell, but not many, and you at least need to see good pictures.

As was pointed out, these are getting reissued as deluxe versions. You should just wait. That's what I'm doing.

Headless Cross is a fantastic album and a classic of eighties Metal.

Headless Cross is really great as the others said. Tyr is also really good. I never really could get into Seventh Star, despite liking Iommi and Hughes a lot, the album never did anything for me. Forbidden has a fitting title, it really should be

I quite like Forbidden, one that really grew on me...like Seventh Star, not really a true Sabbath album, but solid on their own merit...

I voted Headless Cross, but I don't own Tyr. I also don't own Cross Purposes, but I own Cross Purposes - Live for some reason. Oh well, I'll buy the deluxe editions when they come out.

If you haven't yet, get the deluxe edition of "Seventh Star." You get a remastered version of the original recording, plus a second live disc from that tour w/Ray Gillen on vox. Unless you can find the others at a decent price, I'd wait for the re-issues...
