| Will do! In case anyone is mistaken, just to make it clear, I'm not blaming the company. The fault here is all mine, I just wasn't up to the job. My laziness has come back to bite me on the ass and I can't (won't) let it happen again. Speaking of which, it's bedtime. Good night . | |

| You could do a couple of fast food jobs (two 30 hour week jobs are better than zero) to pay the bills till that "perfect job" falls from the sky.
What is the status with you class A license ? _________________

| I still have about half of my unemployment benefits left so it's not quite at that point yet, but the closer I get to running out of benefits I will go that route. That was my plan from the beginning: to find part-time employment if I wasn't able to find anything full-time. BTW, there is no "perfect job", just a job and I'm not being picky about what I'm willing to accept.
I'm sorry if that explanation doesn't fly with you but this is my decision nonetheless. It is for my best interest to get a full-time job and as long as I have those unemployment funds available to me, I must utilize them. Part-time jobs are a last resort and when I start running out of benefits I will have no choice but to take them. I haven't given up hope yet.
As for my CDL, it has expired and even if it hadn't, no company would hire me with only 3 months driving experience. That ship has sailed.

| I did the multiple part time job thing after I graduated college and found out what an English degree was worth. Hell, I was a "Kelly Girl" for a time phoning businesses to verify their Dunn and Bradstreet data and then I'd go to a part time job I got through Manpower where I went around a table of magazines pulling out the staples so the paper could be recycled. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

I haven't done two part-time jobs before but I have burned the candle at both ends in the past. I worked two jobs before I went to automotive school. I worked full-time as a overnight stocker at Wal-Mart and part-time at Albertsons (first at the fuel station, later day stocking). When I first started at Wal-Mart I was part-time and had a full-time job at 7-Eleven. Heck, before I tried my hand at truck driving I was thinking of a part-time job to supplement my full-time job.

You must have parked a truck nearby cause it seems like you have a 40 foot trailer full of excuses I'm changing up what I posted as I posted in anger. I've had time to cool down. James, please, PLEASE stop talking to me. I guess in some way you think you're helping me by being a hardass, but you're not. Every time I get separated from a job, it's like a punch in the gut. Not only am I upset, but more often then not I'm angry at myself (even if I don't think I did anything wrong, I still find a way to blame myself for something or other). Then there's the job search that I hate so much. I'm already stressed out enough and the longer I go not finding something it just adds to it. Then you post something that just seems to be a way to make me feel worse. I don't need that aggravation. So I plead with you, just stop. Pretend I'm not here and just ignore anything that I post in regards to what's going on with me. A while back you talked about maturity, well I was always told by my parents (who are both pillars of maturity), if you don't have anything nice to say to someone, don't say anything at all.

| DB, I do hope the best for you. Part of being mature is telling others the truth regardless of feelings and the other side of that same coin is an individual taking accountability for what they do. Own it and don't blame others.
As long as your pillar of maturity parents allow the umbilical cord to remain 36 years after the birthing process, they are not doing you any favors.
I'll honor your request, but maybe you should take a look at how you ask me to leave you alone and you take a cheap/final shot at the end of your post. _________________

| In case there's some confusion about me living at my mom's house. I'm not just sitting at her house playing video games while she uses her money to sustain me. I have a roof over my head and that's about it. I pay my own debts, make my own car payments, insurance on that car, buy my own food, buy my own clothes, and I do plenty to help my mom out. My mom was forced to retire on SS due to her age and not being able to find a job after getting unceremoniously dumped from her last one. Add to that major health problems (bad knees, slipped discs, straight neck, etc.) and it's harder and harder for her to upkeep her house. That's where I come in. I do whatever she needs help doing (empty the dishwasher, feed the dog, clean parts of the house, etc.) and I run errands for her (grocery shopping, prescription pick-up and drop-off, take her car to fill up with gas or take it through the car wash). Even when I'm working I find time to help around the house and even buy dinner for both of us. When I finally get a steady job, I will help her hire a house cleaner to get stuff done when I'm at work. | |

| I think as long as you're not married and paying your own way, there isn't anything wrong with living with family or a relative. Especially if they are older or disabled and need help.
Here in SoCal it's not uncommon to see people living with relatives because of the high cost of living and ridiculous rent prices.

| Once again I have a job and this time it's different. I will be working for Paradies Lagardere:
http://paradieslagardere.com/
I will be working in the airport terminal of DFW loading up merchandise in a storeroom to deliver to various shops where I will then stock the shelves.
What makes this job different is that it's going back to my job roots in retail. It wasn't until I left the retail job market that I started having a problem holding down a job. While I got tired of retail, its' always been where I shine the most and it's time in my life to have a job that is the best fit for me as opposed to one I enjoy or one that gives me the most freedom. Unfortunately for me, happiness doesn't pay bills. I said I'm not looking for the "perfect" job and this one is far from perfect. It is quite a distance for me (over 50 miles one way),the pay isn't very high (starts out at $11/hour but the HR woman brought it up to $11.50/hour because I was hesitant to take $11 but with all my retail experience they really want me there so she upped the ante), and my schedule is not set (the business runs 7 days a week/365 days a year and I have to be available for all of them). However, this job has some of the best opportunities to move up, full benefits (I can move my 401K from Amazon and eventually take care of some long overdue dental work), whatever shift I get-I will be able to avoid peak traffic hours, and it's a direct hire. I will have to wear a uniform but it's not something I've never done before and it's a good way to avoid undo attention.
I have orientation the next two days and will know more later.

| Alright DB! Good luck with this one. That distance would be a deal breaker for me but sometimes you good do what you gotta do. Maybe something better will turn up while you're working at this job. | |

| That sounds like a long commute but I've had one that was 35 miles each way and it wasn't that bad. It all depends on how bad the traffic is. That 35 mile commute was faster than the 17 mile commute I had when I first took my current job.
Good luck with the new job DB! I keep saying it but I'll say it again, at least you have enough self-respect to keep trying to work instead of sucking off the government teat like a lot of people. More power to ya! Thanks, but even if I wanted to I couldn't. I have no dependents and because of how much I made at Amazon last year and my unemployment, I don't qualify for health care subsidies (with a COBRA of near $500 you think I would), food stamps, etc. Very hard for someone like me to become a welfare case. The commute with the hours won't be bad. As a matter of fact, I could very well make it to work/home using less gas (more highway driving than not) and in a shorter time than I did at Amazon with a 40 mile each way drive. The problem with living where I do, most jobs I can get are going to be more than 30 miles away. With so many people in Weatherford that want to work close to home, anytime a job opens up with any kind of benefits there there is a long list of people trying to get it.
