I ran across this fact yesterday and thought it was a nice bit o' trivia. I personally never would have guessed Suicidal or Sepultura.

The year 2000 hint helped and I figured they probably had a nice international boost to their sales.

I had considered Sepultura for a split second.
It was a shock to see that Testament didn't at least have one gold album
Same with Overkill & Exodus.

If memory serves, Overkill's Years of Decay came within a hair of going gold back in the day. That was pre-Soundscan tracking though, so sales figures were generally not to be taken as gospel truth anywhoo. There was a lot of, shall we say, "creative bookkeeping" going on behind the scenes, haha.

Yes. I was very surprised by all of those bands not having any gold records.

Wikipedia claims that they have sold 16 million albums worldwide. I find that incredibly hard to believe, but I guess anything's possible. Maybe everyone in Brazil owns an Overkill album or something?

In Germany, all babies are issued the entire Overkill discography at birth, along with their first denim battle vest and passes to Wacken Open Air.

I'm also surprised Testament didn't have a gold album... they were pretty popular back around the Practice What You Preach era.
