Hi, I don't know if any of you remember me, but I returned from a four month naval deployment last Friday and I must say it's good to be back home. I hope you are all in good health and living well.

Anyway, in my book, it's been a great year for metal.

Here are some of the releases I've acquired since I've been gone:

King Diamond - Give Me Your Soul... Please
W.A.S.P. - Dominator
Dir En Grey - The Marrow Of A Bone (I'm not sure why I bought this one. I haven't even listened to it yet.)
Edguy - Rocket Ride
Scorpions - Humanity Hour 1
Arch Enemy - Rise Of The Tyrant
Iced Earth - Framing Armageddon: Something Wicked Part1

Next on my list:

Primal Fear - New Religion
Bloodbound - Book Of The Dead

Speaking of Bloodbound - Book of the Dead, does anyone own this cd? What do you think? I've heard several tracks and really like all of them. It's nothing new, arena ready heavy/power metal, but it's right up my alley. Plus, I like the new singer, Michael Bormann. He's quite different from Urben Breed, but I like his raspy voice.

Thoughts?

At different times I've downloaded both Bloodbound CDs and loved them! Downloads usually get deleted pretty quickly from my PC, though, because I expect to be able to find the real CD. Bloodbound has eluded me, though, so I don't know what I'd think of the CDs now, whether they have a long shelf life or not. I loved what I heard, though, and it seems like most people really dig them.

Welcome home from deployment!

I love what I've heard from them and they are amongst my most wanted....but I have not heard the full cds yet....but what I've heard guarantees that I'll love them!

I only have the debut from Bloodbound, and it is good. The new one is on my wantlist.

I got the japan version of book of the dead and it rocks. I still think the first one with urban was better but the new one is very catchy and pretty much picks up where the first left off. You can pretty much play the 2 cds back to back and other than the difference in vocals they are very close in sound.

I got the japanese ver for the bonus track and the better cover. The End Records has the euro version for a decent price now i think...

Alex
