Gotham
Nothing stops a re-animated, formerly dead mayor of Gotham City like a bazooka from one of the Penguin's former head goons. Brilliant.

'Silicon Valley' (hilarious!) followed by a new stand-up special on Netflix by Patton Oswalt (good, but not great).

"Zack and Miri Make a Porno" (2008)
Kevin Smith's raunchy rom-com about a pair of lifelong friends and platonic roommates (Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks) in dire financial straits who decide to produce a skin flick to raise quick cash. Needless to say, this ends up causing some unexpected changes in their relationship. Far from top-shelf Kevin Smith, but it had its moments. Your mileage may vary depending on your tolerance for wall-to-wall vulgarities.

That's the last Kevin Smith movie I've seen. I thought it was pretty funny from what I remember. I was a die-hard Kevin Smith fan for many years, but he lost me somewhere along the way.

I consider myself a K.S. fan, he seems like a cool dude, but his filmography is hit-and-miss. I loved the "Clerks" flicks, "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and "Dogma," and I even liked the mostly hated "Jersey Girl," but this flick was fairly "meh." It was OK to watch once but I doubt I'll ever re-visit it.

Red State, an almost-complete departure from KS fare, is my absolute favorite of his. And I love all of 'em (though I haven't seen Clerks II or Tusk).

Red State was pretty good, yeah. Tho I still have issues with Kev referring to it as his first "horror film" cuz I found it to be more of a suspense flick. Supposedly his original ending to the script (which was canned because it would've been too expensive) would've been a more supernatural/horrific finale, but otherwise, I don't consider it horror.
I haven't seen Tusk but I'm sure I'll get to it one of these days. From what I've gathered, people either love that movie or absolutely frickin hate it. There's no middle ground.
I just finished reading two books by him (Tough Sh*t: Advice From a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good and Silent Bob Speaks! The Collected Writings of Kevin Smith), both were very entertaining looks behind the scenes.
In Tough Sh*t he told some great stories about the hellish time he had directing "Cop Out" with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. Kevin and Bruce had gotten along great when Kev did a cameo in Live Free or Die Hard, so he thought it was gonna be a fun shoot.
Unfortunately Bruce apparently didn't want to be making Cop Out, cuz he was pissed about how little he was being paid for it, so he was a moody, nasty, difficult prima-donna prick thru the entire shoot. Kevin sez he almost had a nervous breakdown by the time that movie was done. That was his first and last "director for hire" gig.

"Nothing But Trailers" on AXS TV.
And they're almost all horror movies so of course I dig it.

"Mad Max: Fury Road" (2015)
30 years (!) after "Thunderdome," Tom Hardy takes over the role of post-apocalyptic ex-cop and all around badass Mad Max, who joins forces with a warrior woman (Charlize Theron) in her escape from the leader of a murderous cult. As you might expect, lots of car crashing, shooting, and stuff blowin' up ensues. The flick is visually impressive, with amazing stunt work but the story is strangely un-involving. It's a decent one-time watch but not something I'll ever revisit.

The Wraith (1986)
A mysterious supernatural car/driver goes after a criminal gang of drag racers in the Arizona desert. Pretty good flick with Charlie Sheen and an ultra hot Sherilyn Fenn, not to mention a cool soundtrack.

I completely forgot about Cop Out; haven't even touched it after hearing how un-Smith it is (and how terrible according to many).
Yeah Red State wasn't necessarily horror but it came close on occasion. I just love the satirical bite it swiped at Westboro and other crazed religious groups. And in a completely unpredictable manner as well.

Licence To Kill (1989)
Timothy Dalton's swan song as James Bond. A lot of people look down on this one but I've always liked it. It has a really good cast and is an effective revenge flick.

That's a disappointing review. I've read a lot of positive things about this movie but for some reason I just haven't gotten around to viewing it yet. Now I'll probably procrastinate on it even longer.

This is what you get when it's your 8 year old's turn to pick the movie...
"Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip" (2015)
Fourth flick in the family-friendly series finds Alvin and his bro's traveling from L.A. to Miami, hoping to stop their "Dad" from proposing to his new girlfriend. Naturally they sing a bunch of songs and have many wacky misadventures along the way. Harmless kid stuff.

I dunno, your mileage may vary, as the saying goes. I think it's one of those movies you really needed to see on a big theater screen in order to get the full impact.

"Deadpool" (2016)
Wisecracking mercenary Wade Wilson undergoes an experimental treatment that turns him into a mutant super-assassin. A completely insane, over the top and entertaining as hell action/comedy starring the anti-heroic character from Marvel Comics. Ultra-violent and profane, definitely NOT a comic book movie for the kiddies!!
