Legend

The NWOBHM band. I'm about to pull the trigger on their Anthology set. €10 on Amazon. I know a few people here on the boards have it. Any thoughts?

And since there's no topic about Legend (I searched!), any discussion about this band is welcome.

I was skimming through BNR Metal Pages and you just can't avoid the lovefest.

Buy it because they are good. Also, there are two NWOBHM bands with the name Legend, but the one you posted put out far more material. I enjoy both.

Also the title to Bob Marley's Greatest Hits. And deservingly so.

But... I was hoping a NWOBHM veteran like yourself would have a little more input!

I recently won a copy of their anthology on ebay and I was pleasantly surprised how consistently good it was from beginning to end. Unlike some of their brethren in the NWOBHM movement, they didn't soften up their sound (too much anyway) after the first album or 2, looking for a radio hit. They played traditional melodic metal till the end. As far as the Anthology collection is concerned anyway.

I'd recommend it.
