SAXON Name 21st Studio Album Battering Ram; September / October Release Expected
UK metal legends Saxon will release their 21st studio album, entitled Battering Ram, this September or October. A recent tweet from frontman Biff Byford can be seen below.

Byford tells TeamRock: “Some of it is quite brutal – but there’s quite a lot of melodic stuff on there as well. Every Saxon album is different to the one before because we like to entertain people and we don’t really like to write the same song all the time.”

On the album’s progress, Biff states: “I have a vocal to do and there's maybe two more guitars and we’re finished. So I think the album will be out in October, perhaps even September.”

Cool name. Sounds very very metal. Battering ram happens to be the title of my favourite iron savior album too!

Good news ! I really need to get caught up in my Saxon collection.

I saw them for the first time opening for Judas Priest last week. Great, great show; "Dallas 1 P.M." was just fantastic. It really renewed my appreciation for this band. I'll definitely check out the new album.

Excellent news. Though it was already kind of hinted at in the thread about the next Saxon album being "brutal".

For sure I'll play a lot of Saxon over the summer in anticipation of this.

What an excellent cover art. Can't wait!!!

I like the concept of the cover art, but the presentation is pretty weak. The song....I'm waiting to hear it on proper equipment.
