With it being summer, what are some good albums that have a "summer" vibe to you? Some that come to mind at the moment:
Hardline: Double Eclipse Van Halen: pretty much all their stuff, but the debut, 5150 and A Different Kind of Truth in paticular David Lee Roth: Eat em and Smile Y&T: Down for the Count

Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers - Rumble
Any DLR-era Van Halen fits the bill for me. I also tend to have an affinity for old-school hair/glam bands in summer time. Probably a nostalgia thing for me.

I have summer albums, but they're ones that remind me of the day winding down back when I was a teenager.
The Smashing Pumpkins - Adore REM - Automatic for the People
These are the albums you spin when you've gotten back from your roadtrip or swimming or whatever and you're just chilling and decompressing. Very summer sunset feeling and I dig that vibe.

Bob Marley and The Wailers is great summertime music. Doubly so if you are in a tropical area.

Two others that really nail the summer vibe for me:
Anything by Oingo Boingo that isn't on their last album or Dark at the End of the Tunnel, which are more autumnal feeling.
Hear in the Now Frontier by Queensryche. Maybe it's down to the cover art or when I first heard it, but that one always feels like summer driving music.

An album which immediately puts me in a time warp back to the summer of 1985 was the album "Play Deep" by the Outfield. They were actually nicknamed the Boys of Summer. After just using that phrase to describe The Outfield, how could I forget Don Henley's "Boys of Summer?"

For me, one album I really associate with summer is Tesla's Mechanical Resonance. It was played at a huge outdoor party I attended with my wife (then girlfriend), our first party as a couple.

I have actually been cranking a few of my "Summer Fun" comps the past two weeks as we are hitting 70's and 80's routinely here in New England. But for summer albums I go with:
Bulletboys - S/T Heaven's Edge - S/T Whitesnake - 1987/ Slide It In Rainbow - Down to Earth Def Leppard - Pyromania Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet Y&T - Contagious
And pretty much any Roth era VH and Johnson era AC/DC

West Coast Jazz circa 1954 to 1960, especially anything released on the Contemporary or Pacific Jazz labels. Good sunny California jazz.

My boss recently let me borrow Beach Boys - greatest hits type CD - and I do have to say - it has a very strong summer vibe - surfin' songs in fact - there is a movie coming out soon at the theatres - They had one lp called " Endless Summer " - and I thought they nailed it with that title. I just loved The Beatles - when I was little glower - and then the Beach Boys - Frankie Vallie and 4 seasons were great too - Who would of guessed David Lee Roth doing " California Girls " Ramones - did this tune -
