I can't speak for either MSG or that Whitesnake album, but those other 4 stand the test of time and sound just as good to me today as they did way back when. I can't believe that On Through The Night is that old.

I can't believe any of them are that old. Man, what a good year for music. And I was only going into 7th grade. Incredible.

It's funny too, I think of that Saxon and Maiden album as old but not VH or AC/DC.

I don't know what you're talking about. The rest of the world keeps aging. I'm pretty sure I stopped at 19.

Y'know. it's funny I have two covers of one of his biggest hits, "Ride Like the Wind," in my collection but not the original version.

Of those albums listed, my favorite is Genesis Duke. It's my favorite Phil Collins-era Genesis album and I love it like an old friend. Audio-Visions by Kansas is also an excellent non-metal album.
And I also love A by Jethro Tull. It is not popular with a lot of Tull fans, but I really like Ian Anderson's brief venture into electronic-style music with that album, Under Wraps and his solo Walk Into Light. A is an album I still play often.

Drama by Yes is an album that gets largely ignored by their diehard fanbase but it's a total ass-kicker of an album. Machine Messiah and Tempus Fugit are the best tracks they released during the entire decade of the 80s.

Well, it wasn't for a metal album, that distinction would go to Jethro Tull (no disrecept to Tull at all). I found the Christopher Cross album to be quite enjoyable when it was new (but I was only in the 4th or 5th grade so what did I know?!?). However, at that age I was also well aware of REO Speedwagon - Hi Infidelity, Styx - Paradise Theatre, Motorhead - Ace Of Spades, Van Halen, AC/DC, etc. Hard to believe it was that long ago. I also enjoyed the whole Get The Knack (36 years old now) and J. Geils "Freeze Frame" (which will be 35 next year).
