Hmmm, never heard that one before. And since we're on the subject of Lars and his drumming, Scott Ian confirmed in his book another long-standing rumor that I had heard before.
According to Scott, Anthrax were opening for Metallica on their European tour. One night, he ran into Cliff and Kirk outside their hotel and Cliff said they were going to dump Lars and look for a new drummer after they finished the tour. The tour continued, Cliff died and everyone flew home. Later on, James also told Scott that dumping Lars was the plan, but obviously everything changed. I just read that chapter the other day and it really shocked me. It makes you wonder how things might have been different and how it's probably not that easy to get along with Mr. Ulrich. The Ian book is a really good read; lots of interesting facts.

| Like some of you, already have an excellent sounding mp3 download of the original "No Life 'Til Leather", but since occasionally preferring the demo OVER the debut album, a good chance I will buy it for an even better quality sound. I still buy demos or albums on cassette tapes. Curious what this "bonus" stuff is that Lars discovered. A bummer those tracks won't be available until a CD version later on. | |

I myself won't even be trying (I never go to RSD--I thought it was cool at first, but now it seems like a way to reissue albums that are readily available second hand, and charge 3x what it'd cost to get a decent used original copy, in most cases). But I do plan to see what the Metallica tape is selling for online. I'd like to get one, but it's just a piece of music. I can live without it.

....I do plan to see what the Metallica tape is selling for online. I'd like to get one, but it's just a piece of music. I can live without it. At the moment, there are 6 auctions on eBay already for the tape (not counting a few buy-it-now listings), and they are all bid up to the $40 range...I'm curious what they will end at. I'm also curious how many will be on eBay after RSD and what the prices will be like. The buy-it-now listings range from $57 to $70. I will likely be waiting for the CD version that was mentioned. Ha.

| It was suppose to be available on their website. Apparently they put it on the site early cause it already says its sold out.
I was at a store today and asked how many copies they were getting and they were only getting 12 and they were $15. _________________

| Well, if there was anyone like myself ever wondering why there's never been anymore footage released from the Day On the Green Festival 1985, then here is most likely the answer: http://www.haggisbuffet.blogspot.com/2015/02/fade-to-black.html Are you serious? Like the person said in their blog, did the camera man need to go back stage and do some lines of coke instead of capturing some great footage? What a shame. | |

This is hilarious. They're doing everything humanly possible to get out of recording a new album.

| ...50 discs of live performance from Metallica? Seriously?
And I thought the recent box set of Yes live recordings was pointless. At least Yes might make some interesting mistakes from show to show.

50 performances and nearly 3 different set-lists. Who doesn't want 50 live renditions of 'The Unforgiven'? Where do I sign-up?!? _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Did anyone hear the new Metallica song? It is badass! They played it on the radio station today at work freaking thing thrashed. No idea what it's called but keep an ear out for it. Not that this helps but the radio station that I heard it on it was 103 The Blaze. They're going to play it every hour. | |
