I thought that Iron Maiden were disqualified (Soundhouse Tapes was both official & commercial)

Originally, that was a self-released demo. Their first official album on a record label was in 1980.

Believer - Transhuman Laaz Rockit - Left For Dead Accept - Blood Of The Nations Megadeth - Endgame
And if I can count the new Kenn Nardi as Anacrusis, Id pick that too.

Maybe because their first album was released in 1995. So even though they evolved from Sanctuary, they probably don't count.

As Vicious Rumors' Razorback Killers was mentioned, how about their 2006 release Warball ?
Fantastic album !

Ahh, I appear to have my dates mixed up as I was sure that this record was released in 2004 but it was in fact from 2006 and therefore I have a new favorite, it's not hard to guess what it is.
Any of the modern Onslaught albums and Carcass-Surgical Steel are very decent too

Whoops! The 80's and early 90's always bleed into each other for me. Hahaha
Well then, let's put Believer - Transhuman in it's place.

warball is an excellent release indeed. Sonic rebellion has such a strong painkiller vibe. i believe this is the best VR album.

Putting this together made me realize how few albums I've bought from 80s bands in the past decade.
Corrosion Of Conformity - In The Arms of God (2005)
Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death (2006) Celtic Frost - Monotheist (2006) Slayer - World Painted Blood (2009) Trouble - Simple Mind Condition (2006)
....the Trouble album is a little spotty, but there are some good tracks and I absolutely love this one...
Honorable mentions: Overkill - Ironbound, Candlemass - Candlemass, Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier, Voivod - Target Earth.

Isn't Holy released in like 1999? Anyhow, can't think of anything great from 80's forged bands in comparison of their classic output, at least from those I like. Fates Warning with Darkness... is the only thing I can come up with.

Doh! It was. For some reason I forgot this topic was for releases after 2004.

I'm going to include St Vitus Lille F-65 as it was an underrated record I think.
