| I don't think I've told anyone on this board, but Mrs. Witchfinder has been battling her second go-round with breast cancer and naturally keeping up with my blog hasn't been a priority. Thankfully, the cancer has been dealt with, she's got clean margins and the chemo is done. I've been making notes on several albums, but I haven't really had the time to do a proper update. Well finally I just put up a review of the new Priest.

The short review is - a great album with crap production and bad sequencing. However, it's worth sticking with because it will click after multiple listens. Also, get the deluxe edition because most of the cuts on the bonus disc rival those on the standard album.
Thanks for reading! | |

| Both reviews really great reads. Glad your wife is out of the woods. May the battle be won. | |

| I thought the production was nice, soft and warm. Easy on the ears, and you can really blast the volume or play with the equalizer. One of the better sounding albums of the decade I've heard. | |

I've heard people describe the production as sounding like a 70s production. I hate the mix on it. Why bury the guitars?

| Dig the write-up.
I'm not sure I'd call the guitars "buried" though. They define the sonic space of so much of the album that it almost sounds like a "wall of sound" production style where the guitars are the "gelatin" and everything else is either floating in or on top of them - if that makes any kind of sense at all.
And, so it's said, best wishes and good health to your wife. Hoping for a positive resolution.
