I figured someone else around here might dig some Italian Progressive Rock. So I decided to start a thread. Enjoy!
Premiata Forneria Marconi or PFM for short! To me, this is the premier Italian prog band:
Impressioni di Settembre(1972):
Appena Un Po'(1972):
River Of Life(1973 - English version of Appena Un Po')
L'isola Di Niente(1974):
Four Holes In The Ground(1974 - English version of La Luna Nuova):
From Under(1975):
Jet Lag(1977):
Passpartù (Live)(1978):

Oh, love me some Italian prog myself. I have some PFM albums on CD. Also recommend Le Orme, Delirium and Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, as well as Jacula, known for heaving some pretty heavy and metallic riffing back in the late '60s/early '70s (that seems to have actually only been put there on rereleases and wasn't actually present on the original recordings :p).
Also check the East European scenes from the period. Some great bands came from Poland, Hungary, Romania and Yugoslavia.

Alphataurus (73?). Dopo L'uragono was one of the best prog songs ever.

Oh yeah! I went through that Prog journey many years ago. Discovered Central/South American prog as well with bands like Psiglo(Uruguay) and Crucis(Argentina).
I also did the Proto-Prog journey as well.(i.e. Cressida, Spring, Touch, Gracious, Marsupilami etc.)
But there is always something new that's old to be discovered!
I'll be posting other stuff as well. I spent a lot of time going through 1970s Prog from different countries with the help from a friend who worked at Esoteric Records(they actually had a dedicated Prog section where I bought a lot of it), but the Italian stuff just stuck with me.

Garybaldi:
Nude (1972):
Astrolobio (1973):
Astrolobio has recently been reissued on Lp.... Saw it at Esoteric Records. It's probably at the Syn-Phonic Website as well.

This is a very nice(complex but mellow) late to the game album.
Locanda delle Fate: Forse Le Lucciole Non Si Amano Piu (1977)
Man.... I have not listened to my Italian Prog albums in a loooong time. Gonna have to remedy that!

But seriously loving this thread, there's weeks worth already on here!
I know nothing about Italian prog as I'm a total prog newbie (I have been exploring Finnish prog which is awesome) but look forward to hearing these.

I really like the Garybaldi Nuda album. I would also buy it for the amazing artwork alone.
