who are your favorite Italian bands?

For some reason, over the past few years, I've really noticed I have a thing for Italian bands. I just freekin' love almost all of them!

Of course, I'm into the whole 'flower' metal deal ... so go figure right?

Anyway - who are your favorite Italian bands?

Mine would be:

1. Vision Divine
2. Luca Turilli
3. Rhapsody
4. Secret Sphere
5. Seven Gates
6. Labyrinth

and to a lesser degree, I still like:

Lacuna Coil

Aside from them, Eldritch is pretty good... and I have a CD by a band called "Merendine Atomiche" that is cool too.

There are some great Italian Thrash bands.Some of my favorites are:

Hyades
Ancestral
Alligator
Bulldozer
Nameless Crime

Yeah it surprised me how good these guys are.I think it was on the $5 sale at CDBaby for a while.Great cd for 5 bucks thats for sure.

Hyades is cool! Raw power is a rad 80's italian hardcore band that I like too.

I have two Rhapsody albums (Symphony of Enchanted Lands and Dawn of Victory - bought them when they were new and I still thought I could get into the band), they ain't terrible, but I really cannot get past Leone's vocals. So I'll say Luca Turilli. I have Prophet of the Last Eclipse (inherited it among other albums from my deceased friend). Similar music, better vocals.

Neither would be in my top 100 bands though. But they are also pretty much the only Italian bands I know. The wife is a casual listener of Lacuna Coil though.

This is one area where my collection is sorely lacking. I can't think of a single Italian band in my collection. Not a single one. I never noticed it before, but it makes me wonder how this happened.

Italy
Norway
Sweden
Germany
Finland

Those countries have released some great stuff for me!!!
