| So I was driving home and I was going downhill on the highway, the speed limit is 55. I get to the bottom of the hill and saw the cop and looked at my speedometer and it was on the 60 mark, so I put a little pressure on my brake and am going at about 53.
He pulls me over and says I was going a little fast and I said I was having some trouble with that hill. He left and I was expecting him to say 5 over.... but he came back and said I was going 72!
I was NOT going 72! I'd beleive 62! Which is what my speedometer was at! If I was going 72 i'd have to slam on my brakes to get it down to below 55.
He knocked it down to 65...
Should I fight it? | |

| I wouldn't. Too much hassle. But I don't quite have the rebellious spirit. |

| I would have IMMEDIATELY asked to see his radar proving that I was going at that speed. I hate that lying BS that some cops pull!!!
I went to pick up my teenage daughter from school a couple weeks ago. I saw her walking down the road heading towards home. I pulled over the side of the road into the dirt and picked her up. There were no cars behind me when I pulled over. I checked my mirror and there were no cars coming so I pulled out and headed down the road towards our destination. Seconds later a cop pulls me over. He asks to see my license, insurance and registration. No problem. I hand them over to him. He walks away from the car not telling me WHY he has pulled me over. He comes back to the car and hands me my license and says, "ok, I'm going to let you off with a warning." With a little bit of a cocky attitude I ask, "a warning for what?". He says, "you can't stop in the middle of the road and block traffic". Yeah, ok, whatever! What a crock of crap! I just said in a most sarcastic tone, "Yes sir!" I didn't have time, nor did I care to argue with him.
He was pulling me over because he saw an older guy with long hair picking up a young teenage girl on the side of the road. Had he just said that he was checking it out, rather than making up some story, I would have been fine with it. "Yes sir, I understand. Thanks for looking out for my daughter". Instead I just thought he was a prick.
Another time I was pulled over while Ultimatum were on the road. I was driving the van, had it on cruise control at 70, which was the speed limit. This cop pulls me over and says in the most laughable hick voice, "Boyyy, you was haulin' a$$!". I said, "no sir, I was doing the speed limit". He replied, "I clocked you going 95." I immediately demanded to see his radar proving I was going that fast. His response, "I didn't clock you on the radar, I clocked you on my watch." Yeah, ok. Another load of crap! He let me go "with a warning!" Again, I just respectfully said, "yes sir, thank you" and took off. No need to argue and cause more problems.

It diden't occour to me to ask because I wasen't expecting it and I was in shock. I'm not sure if he was lying, he seemed like a decent guy... I suspected his equipement wasen't calibrated right. Think I should show up in court?

Same thing happened to me a few years ago, but I was one year out of high school and I picked up a friend that I knew from one of my classes the year before. She was walking home crying so I thought I would give her a ride home 'cause she lived near me. I pick her up and then two cops pull he over right across the street from some businesses, so everyone was staring the whole time. They didn't tell me why they pulled me over, but I knew. They searched my car without asking, they didn't find anything of course. They kept us there for like 40 mins. without an explanation, then just let us go. I was so mad! From that moment on I have not liked cops at all. Protect and serve, my bunghole.

| I was also pulled over once for "speeding", and I was wearing my KISS shirt. The cop came up to my window standard crap, told me I was speeding and asked me "Who is the drummer for KISS?" I think he was making sure I wasn't high or drunk or something and this is just after Peter Criss left the reunion tour, so I said "Actually they don't have one right now". To which he snapped back with "WHO WAS THE DRUMMER!?" I answered Peter Criss, Eric Carr, Anton Fig, and Eric Singer. I don't know if he was satisfied with that or just didn't want to deal with me anymore, so he let me go with a "warning". | |

That should be available to you as a matter of public record. I might suggest you call up your county clerk's office and ask about filing a public record request for it. Here's a website that might help: http://www.motorists.org/fightticket/home/ten-minute-ticket-fighter/
