I actually reviewed it earlier this year on my YouTube channel.

I pulled this album out again this week and I think I see the problem with it, in my opinion of course.
The band is playing a hundred miles an hour (very well, I might add) and Ron is just spewing forth lyrics like he's desperatly trying to keep up with the frantic pace of the music. There's isn't any melody or hooks. The vocals and music seem to be at odds with one another.
That seems to be why I never really connected with this album. As far as I can tell anyway.

If it's that hard to digest I think you're trying to force yourself to like it. Sometimes things that we want to love, just aren't that good....
Absolutely not. Hundreds of bands I've listened to in my life have been hard to digest; transcendence can take time in any medium. The same applies with movies. No medium has to lean on accessibility in order to be good or well-crafted. The same is true in motion pictures, photography, sculpture, etc. In fact, in my experience, the inaccessible is much more rewarding than something that catches on instantly. Yes and Neil Young are two prime examples of this.
And I'm not forcing myself to like it because I do like it, as stated. I'm just having to apply myself more and focus on individual sections of song to fully realize the content. As casual, background music it's fine.
I 100% disagree If I have to listen to something over and over again to appreciate it, I will never appreciate it. I don't listen to music to appreciate it, I listen to it bcuz it moves me in some way. Music is a direct passage to my emotions. Listening to something that doesn't hit me directly makes no sense to me..
That being said DA are great at what they do..
Yes, but there may be a point A where you aren't or haven't been at a place in your life where you can 'get' what something is saying, and you keep playing it and it just doesn't work... but then later on at point B you play it a few times, having evolved in some way, and suddenly it clicks.

The vocals have a lot more melody than any other band playing a comparable style, like SLAYER, SADUS, SEPULTURA, KREATOR, DESTRUCTION, etc.
I think the songs have vocal hooks, especially the first two songs.

Well, I figured there would be differences of opinion. I just don't see it that way. I don't have the same issue with Slayer or Kreator. The vocals and music work just fine together for me there.

I generally prefer my thrash to be chunkier and groovier. So, like, when most bands started doing early 90s albums.

To me the groove years of "thrash" is where the riffs started to get a lot more generic, with some exceptions. I also can't think of a lot of great guitar solos of that era.
