| Interesting interview. Although, if I had to choose, I will always prefer Ron as the singer in DA. They mention that Ron isn't physically able to perform a full show. I disagree. Their info is old news from way back. He apparently fully recovered and is more than capable of fronting the band again. Listen to how he sounds on the Creeping Death cover they did a few years back! That being said, I was totally into the idea of both singers splitting a set and doing their own respective material and maybe joining together for an encore. | |

| Looks like Don Angel and Ron (Gene) Angel will be coming.
This is where I get off! | |

| Thanks for the link.
Even after that Metallica cover was recorded, Hoglan was saying Ron couldn't do it for health reasons.

| Ron is fine. Ron is in great health. Ron will rip your faces off.
Did anyone hear the killer version of "Attack" Ron recorded a couple years ago on the Deliverance tribute?
Don started a lot of rumors that just were not true. He booked shows using the DA name without the permission or even knowledge of most of the DA guys.
I wish people wouldn't take sides and start raging on Don and/or Ron. They are both part of the DA legacy. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

According to Don in that interview, he doesn't need their permission to gig under the name Dark Angel as he owns the rights to the name and the logo (I have no idea if this is true but that's what he's claiming) This is going to end up like the Queensryche thing and I hate it. They made some great music but this is just sad

| Like I said, rumors. Don quit the band by his own admission in 1988. End of story. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I am taking sides. With whoever can ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING.
They have had 20 years to do something significant since the break-up. Pretty much every other significant metal band has been able to make it work to some degree. KIT would be perfect to test the water and see how everyone feels about the future and gauge the crowd reaction. It's one show and you have a year to get ready for it.
At this point I'll take any lineup.

The band with Ron Rinehart, Jim Durkin, Eric Meyer Mike Gonzalez & Gene Hoglan officially announced a forthcoming 2014 reunion on their official Facebook page. Eric Meyer was the last piece of the puzzle, but his involvement was announced on Sept. 5.
Ron did get seriously hurt. He did need a lot of time to recover, which is part of the reason for the long wait. The other reason is the band didn't want to do something half-assed. They want to record new music and do a festival tour and they want the band to be as good or better than they were before. They don't want to ruin their own legacy.

| They announced a reunion in 2002 as well. That meant absolutely nothing.
The Metallica cover was lousy. It sounded lazy. You won't meet a bigger DA fan than me but it's true. If it took them more than 2 hours to rehearse and record it I'd be shocked. It's probably the single worst thing they've ever recorded.
The demo track snippet that their bassist posted that was supposedly going to be on their upcoming album sounded really good. Kinda like something from TDNH.
You also won't meet a bigger Hoglan fan than me but if he is involved I think it will go nowhere for the same reason it didn't in 2002. He makes his living from music and there is none in DA. He can't do 80% of the work for them anymore and they aren't willing to pick up the slack.
If this reunion yields anything, wonderful. But what exactly has changed since 2002's "reunion"? Considering that they only recently reunited when Don got the ball rolling I predict nothing from this.
Don will do something in some capacity. Probably nothing more than a few shows. Let's hope they are pretty good.

| Actually, Jim Durkin writes a lot of music. If DA decides to make a new album, he will most likely write half of it. | |

| I read an interview with Gene on BM where he said he wanted BOTH DA singers to be involved. That would be great. _________________ | |

There's still time for that to happen! It's the best solution.

| Here is the link to that interview. Fourth paragraph, he states pretty clearly what his vision for Dark Angel is.

| It's all very confusing because in the interview at the top of the page, Don said that he would be quite happy to do it with Ron, but that Gene didn't want to work with him (Don). | |
