|  I'm hearing lots of Kansas influences on this album. There are some good moments on the album, but there is also a little too much "bombastically melodramatic" sections in the arrangements. I'll give them props for trying to tackle the Gentle Giant madrigal style vocals during the bridge of Afterthoughts but the overall attempt at a humorous approach in the rest of the tune falls completely flat. I'd give it **1/2 out of ****.

| I finally created my Best Of Mighty Mighty Bosstones folder. 53 songs saved to a flash drive.
Putting this together I realized MMB is one of my favorite bands.

You put your finger on it. Much more aggressive than the last one, which was also more aggressive than the first. Definitely more "modern rock" than I was expecting; there isn't a "Boss' Daughter" type track to be found on this. Still, I like the more aggressive style and I really dig this album. It's just not what I was expecting.
