Wasn't necessarily recommending any of these bands musically, just offering up some bands whose names start with Q. I myself and unfamiliar with Queens of the Stone Age, but their name came to mind when thinking of Q-bands.

I also just remembed an obscure band called Q-Stone, a Southern rock band from the 80's that released one album that I can recall. Probably still have the tape somewhere.

I like Queen.

I'd also recommend "Q5," an early 80s hard rock band featuring Floyd Rose, who later went on to invent some kind of newfangled guitar tremolo thingie and got very rich doing it. Their STEEL THE LIGHT album (circa 1983) is quite good.

Haha, well, I don't own any Yngwie either (never really a fan of his), or any of your other suggestions, so I guess I'm gonna have to work on finding something that starts with "Y" just so I can go back and fill in that blank.

SIX YEARS after the above post, I bought my first ever YES album today so I finally have a "Y" band in my collection. Better late than never.
