| Great friends of mine and they RULE!!!! My band played quite a few shows with them and we were talking about touring together and then they broke up. 3 of the members are now in a band named Bones. | |

| I gotta check this out.....the members names remind me of all those early/mid 80's bands whose tapes we used to trade thru mail. _________________ | |

| I believe our own Scott Waters did a back-and-forth debate with one of the members many years ago. I believe I saw the debate in an underground mag called The Narrow Path. I'll bet Scott will remember more details than I will. | |

| Yes, I did a debate with Usurper. We use to publish a publication called The Ultimatum Metal Mag and we did a two part interview/debate with Usurper. Though we didn't agree on our beliefs, I thought they were cool guys. They did trash us in a few interviews after the debate claiming we never told them it was a debate and that they thought i was just an interview. Of course that wasn't true. We were very upfront about it and even gave them a chance to rebuttal. Other than that though, we never had any interaction with them again. I'll have to dig that interview out. I think I still have copies of that debate.
We also did a 3 or 4 part debate with a self-proclaimed satanist that was in jail for murder. He was very intelligent and well spoken and I think he enjoyed the correspondence. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

I totally forgot this thread existed, but I stand by my earlier comment. "Carcass Chris?" "Jon Necromancer?" _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| @ultmetal That would be very interesting to read. I actually talk to Rick Scythe a bit he's really cool. He's very into Occult symbol's and stuff like that. For example here's a quote from an interview.
"RS: There are 9 songs on this album. The songs deal a lot more with occult practices of the global elite. It deals with a lot of end time prophecies, rise of the police state and the rise of the New World Order, also stuff like occult science, technology run out of control and other conspiratorial topics... also some songs about the paranormal and the cryptozoological, with of course a blatant homage to all forms of true heavy metal!"
He also think's there's chemtrails and stuff like that. So his lyrics reflect conspiracy topics in his new band Scythe. | |

| I'll see if I can find a copy of that. It was a long time ago when Usurper were still a demo band. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| "Some of you may know us of from the band we used to be in, Usurper, which imploded in '07. Two years later Joe, Chris and I started Bones. Around the same time, Rick Scythe started his band, Scythe. Over the last few months we all started talking about doing a Usurper reunion of some kind. The thought was to have the original lineup from our first 2 releases get together and play a show of oldies. Rick and Joe started rehearsing, and I joined them a couple times. It sounded great and the magic is still there, trust me. But, our original singer, The General, made it clear he was content to let the past be the past. Honestly, I kind of agree with him. We were booked for the RIP Records Anniversary show with Sabbat, Metalucifer, Skullview and others on one seriously stacked bill. Without the General, Rick and I tried splitting the vox between us at rehearsal, but it didn't sound right. It didn't sound like Usurper. Mix that with our other band's schedules, and a few other issues, means that we wouldn't be able to properly deliver the goods in a way that we could be proud of. So, Usurper is off the bill of this show. We hate to cancel, but there's nothing worse than a half assed reunion. So, we want to let everyone know now as soon as possible. Usurper meant the world to us back in the day, and to just go through the motions wouldn't be right for anyone involved. Cheers to you all..." -- Jon | |
