I guess that's where we differ the most. I'm way beyond the "live experience"; it's just not worth the hassle to me. But give me a band that I think captures AC/DC's vibe and sound in the studio and I'm all over it.
Rhino Bucket, Johnny Crash, Bullet, '77, Sideburn...I've got a lot of 'em.
all of those are good stuff! I like AC/DC but those bands bring their own little twist to the style.

While I see the AC/DC influence in X-Sinner they always reminded me more of High n Dry era Def Leppard.
The AC/DC vibe in X-Sinner is way more prevalent on the first album (GET IT) cuz the singer had a Brian Johnson style growl.
When they replaced him on the second (PEACE TREATY) with a smoother voiced singer (Rex Scott) they sounded more like Leppard.
...and hell, High-N-Dry era Leppard were obviously very influenced by Bon Scott era AC/DC anyway so it's, like, the circle of life or somethin'.
I always though they traded out a Brian Johnson clone for a Bon Scott clone after Get It...... That clip I posted (Livin On The Edge) sounds like X-Sinner listened to "Billy's Got A Gun" a few too many times before writing the track....
Agree with you that it is the circle of life or somethin' like that..... Def Leppard even used some of AC/DC's equipment when recording High N Dry.

Yeah, I love '77, as well as some of the other similar-sounding bands like Rhino Bucket and Airbourne. I would like to love Bullet, but that dude's gurgley vocals annoy me after a few songs.
What about Kix? Not a clone by any means, but they definitely kick up some AC/DC dust every now and then.

I totally agree; Kix definitely feeds at the AC/DC teat.

The opening of Kix's "Same Jane" (off of Hot Wire) always seemed like a pretty blatant steal off of AC/DC's "Kicked in the Teeth" to me. Still love 'em though.

The overt AC/DC influence on KIX happened later in their career (circa Blow My Fuse).

I think if their early albums had a "beefier" guitar sound, certain songs would have leaned a bit more that way. But honestly, I never thought they sounded much like AC/DC, aside from moments here and there, until I got Show Business a few years ago.
I think that album has a really big AC/DC sound to it.

AC/DC with slide guitar!! I only have one from them (the s/t) but it's a good 'un. Nice boys don't play rock n' roll indeed.

Looks like I was talking out my ass again. I picked up Airbourne's No Guts No Glory over the weekend. Because why not.

I was in my childhood, although I can't say that they are a band that I've listened to since the early 80s maybe time for a trip down memory lane.

I bought Airbourne's debut as a new release, but didn't play it much for the reasons explained above. It's a good album, just doesn't get allot of attention from me. When I saw No Guts..., I thought, "Eh, why not?" And yea, it's good.

I've never understood the "Why not listen to..." thing. I get that if an album isn't very good and the band they're similar to is far better, but a band like Airbourne, to me, is just too good to apply that sort of thinking to.
My opinion, of course.

Get It is one fantastic album!!
Having spent the weekend with Peace Treaty, after the DL reference, was an interesting experience. I started listening to it with that frame of mind and instead of being a second-class album to Get It I can hear whats going on. The shift in comparison truly changed my perception of the album as a whole. I liked it before but I am really getting into the album this time around.
