Poor Ace...
Ace Frehley (nee Paul), who played guitar for KISS in the 80s and late 90s, is on the hook for $735,000 worth of missed mortgage payments on his Yorktown, N.Y. home, the The Journal News reports.
The news surfaced after his bank, U.S. Bank National Association, filed a foreclosure claim on feb. 15.
And the mortgage issue is just the beginning.
Frehley has neglected nearly two years' worth of unpaid property taxes, according to the Journal News. That includes a "2011 lien of $5,131.61 for town and county taxes, as well as $13,425.94 for unpaid 2012 county, school and town taxes."
If Frehley can't come up with the cash, chances are the bank (or the county) will wind up selling the home at auction. And from what little information we have on his case, we're willing to bet that's exactly what Frehley wants.
Frehley reportedly stopped paying on the home two years ago, just a few years after he took over the title on the 3-acre, 2,441 sq. ft. pad back in 2006. Many underwater homeowners –– those who owe more on their homes than they are actually worth –– choose to cut their losses, stop making mortgage payments and simply wait for their mortgage lender to foreclose.
In the meantime, they can start putting their resources into a smaller home or apartment they can afford.
The foreclosure process can take anywhere from under a year to more than two years to complete, so it makes sense we're only hearing of Frehley's foreclosure notice now.
I dont feel a bit sorry for rock stars and celebrities who are dumb with their money. I bust my a** everyday at a job I hate just to keep up with my mortgage and bills and no thanks to our lame a** president I now have to give money out of my check every week for lazy people to sit around on their butts. Poor Ace.....yeah right.

There is no way the MODS will suffer me saying this. He ducks for cover. How in God's name are Kiss a rock band, let alone metal? A few bubblegum tracks with the word 'ROCK' in them and they are considered a hard rock band? As a Irishman, raised on AC/DC, Sabbath, Zepp, Lizzy, Who, Rory Gallagher, Status Quo, how in the name of all things f**kin' holy is KISS metal? or even hard rock? F**k right off. Gene Simmons popcorn rock for impressionable American kids. Absolutely woeful. I can actually feel a bat hitting my head from the MODS. My hate of Hardcore, Anthrax, and now KISS. Sorry MODS, I speak my mind, I absolutely hate them. A pop band. Before batting with clubs, he says in defence: I love Saxon.

Back away from the keyboard CL...slowly...
Kiss is at least as heavy/hard as The Who. You may not like them but they are definitely at least hard rock.

Corplhicks, as I back away slowly from the keyboard would I in no away disagree that the Who are a real ROCK band, who play real ROCK tunes, compared to KISS's bubblegum rock.
To prove how wrong I am I enclose a video of the awful WHO - the band that metal was created from. Unless every band from Black Sabbath to Judas Priest was lying of course.

Ya know, you're entitled to your opinions but for the life of me I can't figure out how you classify The Who as "hard rock" yet you classify Kiss as "pop". I'm a major fan of both bands but I really don't understand why you classify them so differently.
It's cool if The Who rocks your world and you think Kiss sucks but your classifications of both bands totally baffles me.

I'd just like to say that I recently acquired Creatures of the Night and really like that album, especially "Danger" and "I Love It Loud."

What I'm trying to understand is how Cold Gin, Detroit Rock City, Two Timer, Strange Ways, God of Thunder, Makin' Love, I Stole Your Love, Strutter, Rock Bottom, C'mon and Love Me, Creatures of the Night, War Machine, Deuce, Firehouse, and Black Diamond could be labelled "bubblegum rock."

Let's take two of my favorite songs by both bands: "Behind Blue Eyes" - The Who "Strutter" - Kiss
I'm sorry Chrome but "Strutter" is defintely the "heavier" of the two songs IMO.

Ditto.
I get if a person thinks a band sucks but to classify a band like The Who as hard rock yet call Kiss "pop" totally baffles me.

I'm gpbsmacked - utterly gobsmacked. How can you (too many posters here to single out) even suggest that KISS (a total pop rock band with lamo Detroit Rock City, pompalomp) to the THE WHO, with songs such as Naked Eye, Teenage Wasteland, a band that spawned pioneers such as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Budgie, Rush, Van Halen, and yes according to pop star himself, Hungarian Jewish Immigrant, AKA birth name Chaim Witz, the Who were a huge influence on his life. If you are such huge KISS fans you'll see I also know my subject. I see Mr Witz and his cronies as a the BAY CITY ROLLERS of AMERICAN music.
Just my opinion.

Your opinion Toho, that's democracy, brother. Be bloody boring if we agreed on everything. Now, The Who are better

I guess you'll just have to remain "gobsmacked" because if anything, I think KISS is HEAVIER than The Who overall.
As I said before, I'm a fan of both bands but I give up trying to divine your interpretation of Kiss as "pop" while The Who is "metal". You're entitled to your opinions regardless of how wrongheaded I think they are.

Spoken like a true Yank (Mod throws chair at me across Atlantic) . And if you read what I said before going all American: I never called the WHO metal - I called them HARD ROCK and influenced hard rock and metal - (re-read what I wrote) . If I upset your little AMERICAN bubblegum band KISS, I am truly sorry. For my penance I shall play 'God Gave Rock And Roll To you' and 'Crazy Nights' the Simon Cowel derived drek that is killing rock music. And I'll get my kids to rock out to Madonna (I mean KISS) - same thing
Now, f**k off, will ya, before I grab you across the Atlantic and force u to neck a bottle or two of Bushmills and an ear pounding of THE WHO.

*sigh* I surrender. You're right, KISS is in the same musical category as Justin Bieber, PSY, Lady Gaga and other pop flavors-of-the-day. I'm just too stupid to realize it.

How can you seriously compare bass guitar John Entwhistle to Gene Simmons?
How can you compare Paul Stanly, or any lead guitarist in Kiss to Pete Townsend on guitar?
How can you compare Moony to Peter Criss or any Kiss drummer?
The answer speaks for itself.
A little teenage angst pop band KISS. You want real rock, try the Who, check out the lyrics.
