| Styx "Grand Illusion" is one i just noticed is missing from my collection, (I wore the cassette out back in the early 1980s). That new gatefold looks good. | |

| Every time I see the cover to The Grand Illusion it reminds me of the episode of "That 70's Show" where Eric is freaking out about STYX coming to town for a concert. He decides to camp out at the arena to get tickets and when he wakes up he's the only person there. |

That was my favorite episode.

If you get it on vinyl http://www.gohastings.com has the best price on it. I was kind of expecting pictures in the gatefold but its the lyrics. Very easy to read. The vinyl is very nice too, has the classic A&M logo and very heavyweight 180 gram. Sound is BETTER than my cd version (the original pressing from the 80's). Good to have Grand Illusion on vinyl again. Pieces Of Eight was also reissued and remastered on 180 gram but I have the original and will prob just stick with that vinyl version. I'll also add that the color of the album art is much brighter and more clear than previous versions. That doesn't show up well in the above photo.

| Good find. I've been bidding on Eye In The Sky on eBay but at the last minute someone wins it for a penny more. Bastards! | |

I actually found these at Dimple records up in Sacramento for 1-2 bucks pop. I had 60 bucks worth at first, including a MINT first pressing of Yes' Tales From the Topographic Ocean (that was actually 6.99) and a decent copy of Blonde on Blonde, but I had to force myself to put them back to appease my budget. I never even got halfway through the entire collection and I was there for three hours. AND I found Riot's Fired Down Under on CD for a freakishly low price of 7.99. It was a great way to end the week for sure. Spinning Eye in the Sky right now for the kids; forgot how grand this entire album is.

| Man I could spend hours looking at vinyl if I could find a store that carried a lot of it. Yesterday I was winning Eye In The Sky for $5. Been the only bidder all week then in the middle of the night someone got it for $5.01. Well, I bested them this morning because I found a newly listed VG copy on eBay Buy It Now for $3.33! Haven't heard that album in years. A few weeks ago I found "I Robot" for a buck at Goodwill. | |

| I need to revisit Eye In The Sky. I know I had it on vinyl as a kid and loved it. I believe it got destroyed when I left several records in my parent's attic when I went off to college. Sun and heat is no friend to vinyl. Found this long-time want at Poobah Records. " /> and these in their freebie bin out front. Unfortunately some guy beat me to the ELO collection they had out there. " /> then found this gem at the Salvation Army " /> | |

| Just curious, let me know how well those free records play. I bet you'll have to give them a deep scrubbing to get them to sound half way decent. I've never run across a freebie bin of vinyl.... Just curious what kind of shape they are in to be free. | |

| The records themselves are fine. The covers are another matter. Poobah is more of an EBM/trip-hop type of shop. I think they even run a label. They'd be the first to admit they could give a friendly f-all about rock music. I'm always finding metal rarities for dirt cheap. Interesting enough I've never had a problem with the condition of the freebies (I check and leave behind the bad looking stuff) but once I had skips on a purchased record from them. | |

I remember grabbing a Benny Goodman and The Who's Tommy out of a trash can behind a record store I was walking behind one day. They were sitting on top of a pile of records. They both played fine, especially for free.
