| went to a book store today that takes used books, CD's, LP's, and DVD's from you for general credit. Saw a bunch of killer vinyl (all priced between $6 to $12) which seems spendy but one can use credit to buy them. So I trade in a bunch of books and DVD's (they hafta be in EXcellent shape) and score some killer vinyl without paying one red cent.
Today i got:
Accept-Metal Heart Saxon-Denim & Leather
on hold until tomorrow or the next day, whenever I go there:
Accept-S/T Saxon-Innocense Is No Excuse, Power And The Glory, Crusader Y&T-Open Fire Y&T-Down For The Count (I may or may not pick it up, not my favorite by them) and a couple more I dont remember, I should have wrote 'em down.

I remember hating DFTC when it came out. that is why I passed on it. Until somebody insists that it is worth getting, I'm ok with not adding it to my collection.

| As posted in the hauls thread, at a horror con over the weekend I bought the They Live score on vinyl. Death Waltz is a company that has been doing insanely beautiful reissues of horros scores on vinyl, with excellent artwork and packaing. I had been wanting to get one of their releases, and what better way to start the collection than with this excellent score. I have the CD, but you know...this is just so nice. | |

Cool stuff. A buddy of mine just got a very cool, elaborate vinyl reissue of the "Re-Animator" soundtrack, I'm assuming it's on the same label as this one. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

It is the same company. The seller at the convention had the Re-Animator one too, and it looked really nice, but at $25 a pop, I could only get one and the JC films have the scores I am more connected to than Re-Animator. I would like to get that one in the future though.

| First Rays came in on vinyl today! Didn't have time to open it but I can't wait to hear it, have never heard these versions (Eddie Kramer, Experience Hendrix versions of these songs). | |

| Finally had a chance to open up First Rays Of The New Rising Sun and I was quite impressed. The album comes in what appears to be a 3 or 4 mil poly bag, not shrink wrap. You can put the album back in the wrapper when you are not looking at it. It has a gatefold cover with lots of notes on the inside. It also includes a detailed book with a track by track analysis. The vinyl comes in a pink/purple tinted 4 mil poly sleeve. Much better than the paper ones that albums used to come with. Put it on the player and about 10 seconds into Freedom a heard a "pop". So I played it again. Did it again so I took the record off and did not notice anything on the vinyl. Looks wonderful. Put it back on a third time and it is still there. It is not even really an annoyance but just a reminder that I am listening to vinyl. I played Sides 1 & 2 and these songs sound awesome. I read along with the notes as each song played. Didn't have time for Sides 3 & 4. Over all very happy with FROTNRS and not bad to find a NEW unopened/sealed copy for only 13 bucks!
As for concerts Manny, I too love the art. I also had this on cassette from Columbia House years ago. When I saw it on vinyl I HAD to have it. I believe it was only $7. Not bad and was a good listen I had not heard it in years. I wasn't aware that this was also an Alan Douglas release (and I like his stuff I enjoy the albums he released and think he takes a lot of unneeded heat from Hendrix fans).

| 'In Concert' and 'Live At Winterland', Douglas did an excellent job, I will admit that, but I am not a fan of Alan Douglas one iotta | |

That was a Douglas compilation, I believe it was out of print before Experience Hendrix even formed. The only version on CD I've ever seen was an import. My guess is most of the material included on Concerts has been or will be reissued via Experience Hendrix so that particular compilation is obsolete at this point. |
