A great album. Highly underrated, I think.

Although I like both singers equally, I went with Howe. I think they put out some stronger albums with him at the mic (but only slightly).

I love those 3 albums with Howe, so he gets the nod.

Had to go with Wayne.
The albums with Howe are good, make no mistake, but the first two just drip power and aggression!

I'll need to listen to my two Howe albums again (forgot I had them) and come back to this poll.

Like Wayne, Howe and Ronnie Munroe. Voted for Wayne. Those first two albums are untouchable IMO.

I don't think I've heard a Metal Church song. Are they classic metal?

W/Mike Howe on vox:

Also, T-Roy being that you mostly listen to Christian metal, David Wayne became a Christian later on (though not with Metal Church). However, from what I understand, his solo album and work with Reverend reflect his faith (though the Reverend stuff I understand is hard to find).

That's cool. This first album is KILLER! I don't know why...I always figured them like hair metal or maybe in the vein of Crue or Maiden. But this is WAY heavier.

I knew of the name 'Metal Church' since the mid 90s but never heard a song until around 2007-8 and didn't get any albums til about a year after that. So I must have lived under the same rock .

I remember getting the Metal Church album when Elektra reissued it in 1985. I think there was a promotion that Elektra records did called "March is Metal Month" and they had a few of their big releases on sale. I think the poster had Metallica, Motley Crue and Metal Church featured on it. The sale price was like $5.99 for the LP, I bought the Metal Church without ever hearing it.
The debut is easily my favorite.

The debut is one of those albums that define the genre for me.

Mike Howe.
Blessing in Disguise was my intro to the band and I went forward from there. It was only after living with those records for awhile that I backtracked and got the older albums.

T-Roy, I thought you had Ultimatum's Lex Metalis CD? Track #1, "Ton of Bricks" is a Metal Church cover.

Went ahead and voted Wayne (though it was only a vote between him and Howe-I only own the first 4 MC albums). Both are great vocalists of the genre (how they can sing like that without tearing up their throats is a mystery to me) but I think Wayne had a more distinct snarl. Also I prefer the darker sound of the first two albums over the Howe ones (or at least it sounds darker to me).
