December 17, 2012 – “Hey Guys, Well, The rumors are true. I have teamed up with Recon. We are in the studio in California tracking vocals. As many of you know, Rick Macias (Sacred Warrior keyboardist), who has gone to be with Jesus, told me just a few months before he passed away that he wanted George and I to record an album and so , in his honor, we are finally doing this. Please pray for this project. Thanks and God Bless."

Apparently you did. It was announced quite a while ago. They are recording their long-awaited second CD with Rey.

Been really looking fwd to this! There was a newer song about a Mirror or something that they were playing live for awhile and it was heavy as hell and catchy!!! Really hope that song is on there. The singing better have some balls behind it too!!!

Are you guys saying that Sacred Warrior is active? I like both bands.

Yeah, SW is recording with the vocalist for The Sacrificed. A new song is om YouTube.

Eddie "O" from Recon is an excelent lead player but.....................

I got to listen to a raw cut of a song from George, and it blew me away. Rey's voice is so smooth.

Ehhh. Doubtful. Outside of a few hundred random message board nitpickers like us around the world, the name "Recon" probably doesn't have much "cache" with anyone anymore.

Sure it doesn't need to have the same name, but at least they should give a reference of who they are coming from which bands . also I see lack of promoting this band. They should at least open a Facebook page

It's always a fine line when an old band gets back together.

If they keep the name, but change or tweak the sound in any way, shape or form, fans will complain that it doesn't sound like the old band and "should have just changed the name".

If however, they change the name but still sound close enough to their "old sound", fans will complain that they "should have just kept the name".

true. I have always thought mortification used their name to sell albums when they were changing styles all the time..
