| Awhile back Recon were supposed to release a new album. Did they ever get their act together? Anyone know what has become of Recon? | |

| I thought they reunited with their original vocalist and then I think the bassist on the CMR board said they were done.

Remember Barren Cross' big announcement a while ago that they had a new singer? Remember his name? Me neither. They haven't made a peep since. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| A reunion would be cool though. I only recently dug out my dad's cassette of these guys. I quite like it | |

| I'd be willing to bet a dollar to a donut that Vett Roberts (Recon) can't sing that super-high falsetto stuff anymore. A shame, really, that guy had a killer set of pipes back in the day. You could probably say the same for Rey Parra of Sacred Warrior. They might be able to get that range back but it would take a ton of practice to whip the old vocal cords back in to shape. | |

| From what I have heard, most people involved in these bands have moved on in life and really dont have other things like work and family. Its a nice idea to reunite but I think most dont have the time. _________________ | |

They played a bunch of shows over the years. They have a whole album of new material written. They even printed up shirts for the album. However, they never recorded it. Guitarist George Ochoa has a studio in his house and that's where they were to record, but George drug his feet. (At least his is what Mike Grato tells me). He said that George was more into doing other stuff and didn't think people were all that into the Recon sound anymore. The other thing is, apparently Vett was very unreliable and hard to find. He would just disappear and they would have no clue where he was. As for singers, I really with they would have recorded with their other vocalist Rod. He is outstanding and would have pleased Recon fans as much as Vett. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Before they put all the effort into it, they want to know if very many people even care. I can understand that. It's a lot of work to release an album but you never truly know unless you try.

| Thanks for the update on them! The last time I seen them, Rod was on vocals and they seriously killed! They had played 2 new songs which crushed anything on their 1st album so I was really looking fwd to getting this when it came out. Then it turned into another waiting game like when morons were waiting for the last GnR album. haha - Quote :

They need to just record it and release it already. Not many people knew them out of the xtian scene so its gonna be the exact same for them right now. But I still like them. I demand a new album!

Do you think their vocals have "balls"?

It's a lot of work to release an album but you never truly know unless you try. but bands end up looking silly if they announce stuff and it never pans out. There have been a lot of announcements from Christian metal bands of yesteryear regarding new material and very little follow through. I know stuff gets in the way and I would be one of the first to buy the new stuff but it doesnt inspire a lot of confidence. _________________

Or at least announce when something isn't going to happen so people won't expect it.

Do you think their vocals have "balls"? Yeah I can imagine it coming as a surprise because I really don't like a lot of stuff. These guys caught me way back when and occasionally I throw a few tunes on. As with the vocals... yes and no. I think they fit what this band does, but I think there could be a lot more to strengthen them.
