I just stumbled on this forum by accident - I'm glad I did

Hello, metal heads -- I was looking up old metal compilation albums and a link to this forum popped up - some lucky cat here was talking about answering a Craiglist ad and getting 300 metal albums and metal compilatons for free.

Anyhoo, I like to gas all things metal, and this is just a thread to introduce myself and say hi. 'm 43, from Ireland, been a metal fanatic since my babysitters blew my ears with Black Sabbath and Led Zepp in 1975.

I look forward to talking all thngs metal and beyond.

Hello and welcome!

Dang. Going by the moniker, I thought this was a posting from a member of Chrome Locust. I just played that album last week.

Ah well. Welcome anyway, I guess. I suppose I was a metalhead once, but I'm losing my street cred. Too old to care anymore.

Welcome. I stumbled onto this place looking for info on the Saxon remasters if memory serves me right. Then signed up in order to buy something from a member. Stuck around ever since. If anything you'll get some killer musical suggestions.

Dang guys, I thought I'd posted a thanks for the love post last night - it must not have sent. My sincere apologies. To answer a couple of questions, I'm from Dublin, a good distance from Donegal, but in American distance terms, a stones throw to you guys. Donegal is awesome, probably the most beautiful scenery in Ireland, and the people rock.

As for the next round of beer - a crate of Guinness on its way to you guys with chilled mugs with your handles engraved on em.

I love all sorts of music, but metal is my true passion and first love. Was there for me in the shitty times growing up - teenage angst and all that BS, and was there for me in the good times. I've seen over a hundred concerts as was my youth. I'm busted poor at the mopment, so going out is a no go. We're in a serious mess here in Ireland, the government are attacking the poor like crazy and protecting the rich, and its take, take, take; I guess its the same your end. So fun is on hold for most of us. Though I'd love to take the wife to see Roger Waters next September. Might have to starve for a month or two to raise the cash. But I'm determined to see that show. I missed AC/DC in 2010 and I don't want to repeat that pain again.

Welcome fellow metalhead (yes, I'm not ashamed to say it )! Yes that is just one aspect of mine, but unlike the labels used to mark many of my interests, that is one I don't mind calling myself or being called.

I'm usually coherent when I log on here, but I guess I've stumbled on this site at over .15 on some nights.
