Another band I'm interested in that hasn't had a thread made. Although they are fairly high up on the Death Metal popularity ladder, I'm kind of on the fence about them. Vocals are kind of hit and miss depending on how the song plays out, they throw in some enjoyable orchestration/symphonics at times. Yet I feel like something is missing from the band, and cant seem to put my finger on it. Oh well, opinions on this band if any?

I'm not much of a death metal guy but Vader is pretty solid stuff. They've been one of my brother's favorite bands for years 'n' years, since he got their Morbid Reich demo tape from a trading pal waaaaaaay back when.

I'm cool with Vader. No -core elements, no gimmicks, no try-too-hard pretentiousness, not a care in the world for anything except crushing you. 'Litany' and 'Welcome to the Morbid Reich' are my favorites.

See them used a lot but haven't pulled the trigger on them. Suggestions are welcome.

i love Vader, but they aren't pure death metal. more like death/thrash, so you'd think they would appeal to more guys here.
Litany is my all time fave by them.

For one of the first times ever, I am fully on board with OCI. One of the [so-called] true Death Metal bands that don't come off as douchebag posers and are listenable. A more "late-90's" version of Death or Obituary and that is way sweet to my ears. Too bad thier stuf is pretty hard to come by, or I would probably dig them more.

I don't know a lot of their stuff, but I love their covers of Slayer, Dark Angel, Kreator, etc.

Same with me. For no logical reason they are just one of those bands that I convinced myself I won't be interested in. From the sound of it I've been missing out on some good stuff.

I like Vader - they have that borderline thrash - classic early 90s death metal sound.
Revelations, Litany and De Profundis are great albums. They never really rose to the same height as their American death metal counterparts but still play some very tight aggressive sounding metal.
As far as Polish bands go, Vader imo rank lower than Decapitated. I think if you want a really good Polish death metal band Decapitated is it. Listen to the song 'Sphere of Madness' easily one of the best death metal songs ever.

Vader are one of those bands that don't change a ton, but put out quality. I would suggest the "This is The War!" EP, and probably their last 3 albums. Really, I can't say any spot would be a bad starter.
Funny thing is, one of my favorite Vader songs is exclusive to the video game "The Witcher". No recording of it on any Ep or album other than the Official Soundtrack to The Witcher.

The did a mean cover of Mayhem's "Freezing Moon". I don't care for Mayhem's version, but Vader's shows that apparently underneath all that bad production, corpse paint and crappy vocals, there might have been something to Mayhem's songwriting.
They also did a cool cover of "Rapid Fire".

Last year I got a compilation of Vader songs called Armageddon. Gives me a good overall look into the band. Apparently I got it at a steal because it cost me $8-9 but I see it on Amazon for $50. Doesn't make much sense seeing as their albums don't seem to be expensive of hard to find.
Anyway, some pretty fine, solid death metal.

I love Vader. Seen them numerous times and they are still the tightest band I have ever seen!! Litany and Black to the Blind are my faves from them, but I like them all.
