Next up in my series of boredom-inspired poll threads are two legends in the genre of death metal, that infuse a hefty amount of thrash in their music. Both of these bands boast a crushing modern sound, and near-spotless discographies, so have at it:
Deceased
Vader

I only own one Deceased album ("Fearless Undead Machines")... but I don't own any Vader.

I like both very much, but there is really no contest here. Vader all the way, by leaps & bounds.

I liked the early demos from both bands a lot.
Picked VADER, as I own a CD, and because they are not cheapskates like DECEASED!
VADER never sold me a BLANK demo tape and then when I mailed the chrome tape back to Deceased to get the demo copied, instead they sent it back on a supercheap crappy "normal" 10 cent tape.
Maybe they thought that was funny, well, they can keep on laughing. I will never forget that, even though it was like 14 years ago. I downloaded everything they ever did in case others want to copy it, I will never buy their albums simply due to that "mistake" (?).

There is nothing "modern" about Deceased.
I pick Deceased.

Here we go...
Modern, as in always getting mistaken for a new wave death/thrash band, when they were formed in the mid 80's.

There's no "here we go". Who "always mistakes" Deceased for a new wave band? When I made my statement, I meant that the combination of Deceased being around for going on 30 years and that they have never, ever, ever chased any kind of trend, retaining a very old school type of sound, makes them anything but "modern". They exist in the current, modern age...but they're anything BUT "modern".
