New Ayreon for 2013!
There's been no news from the Electric Castle for a while, but don't let that fool you into thinking that nothing is going on here -- Arjen has been hard at work in the studio writing songs for his next project.

This time it's going to be an AYREON!

In the video you can also hear a few sound snippets from the early demos. There is no release date set, but if all goes as planned we're looking at sometime in 2013.

I am a Ayreon diehard so this will be a no brainer for me.

I saw this yesterday. Made my day. This guy is amazing!

I would die if Arjen, Devin Townsend, and Dan Swano all collaborated on a project together. He's worked with both before, but all three on a collaborative album would be amazing.



Devin's part in that song blew my mind when I first heard it. Given that Arjen let Devin write and record his own parts, I suspect Arjen crapped his pants when he heard this for the first time. Haha.

I remember Arjen saying on his website, that he didn't understand a word Devin said in that song but was utterly impressed with his performance.

Pretty easy once the third clip comes in, but the first two sound NOTHING like the guy. Looks like Arjen got some new sounds from him. =)

AYREON's latest album, "01011001" (2008), sold 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 32 on the the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart (which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200).

AYREON's 3CD + DVD compilation album entitled "Timeline" came out in November 2008. The set followed the thirteen-year evolution of the AYREON sound from the 1995 debut "The Final Experiment" to the release of "01011001". In addition to selecting tracks from the existing AYREON discography, Arjen also wrote and recorded a new AYREON song exclusively for "Timeline". Titled "Epilogue: The Memory Remains", this previously unreleased nine-plus-minute track introduced AYREON fans to the clear, powerful voice of Jasper Steverlinck (ARID)
