| Subject: Anyone ever bought one of Amazon's CDRs? Tue Oct 02, 2012 3:37 pm | |
| I'm just curious how they come. Like, is it just a Memorex CD with "Overkill- Taking Over" scribble in Sharpie on it? Is there any sort of cover? A jewel case and back inserts?
I always get disappointed when I look up an out-of-print album and see that it is apparently miraculously availalbe again...and then see it's a CDR. $15 for a previously OOP CD is nothing. $15 for a CDR is a lot. I could buy the MP3 album and make my own CDR.
So...has anyone ever even bought one of these? I often will see negative reviews from people who bought one, not knowing it was a CDR, but there are never any notes on how it comes, exactly.

I'm sure it's a pro-burned CDR...with color print on the CD face, etc...Disc Makers makes these for indie artists and they look good. _________________ FINAL SIGN

Hm, if that's the case, maybe I will try one out someday, of an otherwise OOP CD. I believe it always says that Amazon's usual return policies count here too, and I've never had a problem returning anything in the past.

| Didn't come from amazon but I did intentionally buy a cdr of Strike Master's Vicious Nightmare. It looked good and sounded real good too. Hate to say this, but if it hadn't been labeled as a cdr I would've never suspected it. | |

I've gotten a couple (the one I remember was Hardline-II) and you are correct sir.

| I've gotten several and I can't really tell the difference. My only fear is that the CDRs might degrade over time faster than regular CDs. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.
