| I have some CD-R's that are about ten years old now and they still play fine. As long as you keep them in their cases when they're not in use, and don't leave them in a hot car or on the windowsill on a sunny day, they should last you awhile. Of course, I would imagine that it also depends on whether you're using good quality discs or cheapo no-name brand ones. There are a few people here who've told stories about CD-Rs suddenly refusing to play after a number of years but thankfully I haven't experienced that... yet. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Depends on the quality of the product and how well they are taken care of. Some will state a CDR only has about a ten year life span, but I personally have many much older than that with no problems. There are too many variables to give an accurate number. |

Those are guaranteed to last either. I've had a few suffer from cd rot. Anytime I buy used cds and get them home(or sometimes in the car) I hold them up to the light to check for pinholes. Get Lps! We already know that they'll last for at least a century

| While I don't have many, the few cdr's I have are holding up pretty well so far. Like others have mentioned, I think if you keep them out of the sunlight or extreme temps, you should be fine. Better quality cdr's probably play a part in it too. Buy them cheap in a Dollar Store and you get what you pay for. And yea, buy the real thing too. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Most CDrs I have I listen to once and that's about it and that was mostly when I didn't have an audio jack in my car for my MP3 player to plug into. I'm mostly all MP3 players because I tend to leave a mess when I have my CDs in my car. I know the sound supposedly (sic) isn't as good but I really can't tell the difference because all I have to do is turn the radio up more and it sounds just as good to me. I'm just too disorganized to stick with only CDs (however, almost no albums in my computer is not an album I have or have had in CD form). | |

Dammit, I told you not to leave them in a hot car, or on the windowsill on a sunny day!! I was trying to use them as a shield from the sun to prevent the car from getting hot. I didnt see you shouldnt do that in the care instructions.... _________________
