| I've always kept my music organized and in excellent condition. It also gave me chills to see friends who had stacks of CDs piled up around their stereo, or all over their floor of their car. I guess MP3s were definitely invented for those cats.
But mine have always stayed in as pristine condition as possible, while still actually using them. And always in order, in their place. But I still managed to lose a total of three, in the near 20 years that I have been buying CDs. And they all 3 still irk me.
First. In around 2000 or so, I bought the first CD by a punk band called Death By Stereo when I saw them live. The CD was ok, but nothing insanely special. It just seemed to disappear one day. I didn't feel the need to replace it, but it always bothered me that I lost it somehow.
Second. Iced Earth's Burnt Offerings. I lost only the disc. I suspect that I had placed it in another CD case while driving, intending to put it in its right case when I got home. I further suspect whatever CD case it went in was a CD I sold, and forgot to check inside first (which I would usually do). So, if I'm correct, then it was a whole series of things I don't normally do that led to the disc going missing.
Third. Recently, I seem to have misplaced the disc only for Springsteen's Darkness on the Edge of town. A fave. So I downloaded the remastered MP3 album from Amazon, and burned it to a disc to live in the case. Until I hopefully find the disc or replace it. It has to be in my house, as I have no idea where else it would go. Bothers the hell out of me.

| Ha! Yeah, one time I lost just the CD of Megadeth's Capitol Punishment: The Megadeth Years, but I know where it went. I sold an old home stereo on craigslist several years back, and I purposefully had that disc in it to show the guy that the CD player worked fine.
He bought the stereo, but in the hustle and bustle I forgot to get the disc out of there before he left. Didn't realize it til a couple hours later, lol...tried calling him, but to no avail.
I had it ripped into my PC, so I made a burn of it and put it in the case, but of course, that's not properly complete. Bothered me all the time til I finally replaced it with another copy.
But then I had an extra set of the darn inserts, etc.! Lol...

| Thankfully I'm supremely obsessive compulsive about the organization and storage of my CDs and I don't loan them out to anyone, so... no. I did lose a bunch of cassettes years 'n' years ago when I was in college though. My roommate at the time invited a bunch of his low-life friends from home to spend the weekend and after they'd left about a half dozen of my tapes were suddenly missing. Needless to say, I was less than thrilled. ...now that I think about it, that incident was what made me so obsessive about the care of my music collection!! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I just remembered I lost my copy of Last Chapter's The Living Waters a few years ago, and to this day, I haven't found it and don't know where it went.
I don't remember being too terribly impressed with that CD, but it still bugs me, because I'm like you; I keep my discs pristine and in order and in their place.

| When I bought the 2 disc reissue of Rosanna's Raider's both albums, I was going to sell my original copy of Calling Down Fire. But when I opened the case, the CD was gone, and I have no idea where it went! What is even worse is that the booklet for my Primal Fear debut album has gone missing too! I also had Ronni LeTekrø and band sign the booklet for his third solo album, and the booklet got lost at the concert venue _________________ | |

| Ohhh yea.... Well not so much me but my brother would borrow some cds from me (without me knowing) and he would either loose them or I would get them back scratched. He usually re-bought them for me if he lost it or broke it though so I guess I couldn't be too mad. I lost 1 myself not too long ago. I bought a ton of cds when I went to PA. I looked through them at the hotel and put them all back in my bag. When I got back home I noticed one of them (Lordi-Monsterican Dream) was gone. I even called the hotel they never called me back. I always wondered if my friend who I was visiting took it but I honestly don't think he would have done something like that, and who steals a Lordi cd anyway let a lone buy one Just recently I realized that I can't find one of my Therion cds. It has to be in another case though cause I've never took it out anywhere. Problem is I started going through my cds but only made it through one side of my shelf and I gave up. Hopefully I'll eventually find it. _________________ | |

| One time I had a Motorhead CD in my car stereo. I forgot to take the CD out and brought the case in the house. The next day I was in my car again and realized I didnt' have the Motorhead case so I shoved it into another case I had with me and figured I'd put it in the correct case when I got home that evening.
Of course, I forgot.
Months later I pulled out that Motorhead CD to play and what do you know, it's not in the case. Oh crap, I remember, I put it on another case. Which case was that? I don't remember. I looked through playlists on this site to see if it would trigger my memory, but it didn't. I finally gave up and purchased the Motorhead CD again.
Eventually I found the missing CD when I pulled out the other CD to play. I replaced the missing CD in the case and used it as a trader. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

When I realized the Iced Earth disc was missing, I opened every single one of my CD cases, which took forever...and of course, it was not in any of them.

| I lost Joan Jett's I Love Rock'n'Roll while traveling. I never replaced it, but I still have the CD case eventhough it's not possible to ever find it. It could be in a thousand different places.
Luckily I never really cared about Joan Jett that much.

When I realized the Iced Earth disc was missing, I opened every single one of my CD cases, which took forever...and of course, it was not in any of them. Hahaha yea thats annoying. Since I've owned an Ipod I haven't taken my cds out of the house. I usually burn them or if I want to listen to it at home I'll throw it in the cd changer. Chances are thats what I did because I do remember having all the Therion albums in there at one time. I completely emptied out my cd changer and put all the discs back in their cases. Now that album could have been one of those that didn't have the bands name on it or anything so who knows what I threw it in. All this talk makes me want to start looking again and I think I will in a minute haha. Shame about your Iced Earth cd cause I do have a couple different versions of that album but I have the cases. The only Iced Earth album I have that is missing a cd is Alive In Athens and my brother lost that on me but he more than made it up when he bought me the 3 cd version. _________________

| I thought I had lost my Guns n Roses 'Appettite' and I looked everywhere, it drove me insane, looked everywhere and no luck. I went out and bought the disc again, needless to say I found it a few months later.
I lost a Doors live disc, 'Live In Philadelphia' and I never did find it, and rebought it. Losing a Doors disc caused me much distress and grief

| I'm pretty good at keeping track of my discs, but one I remember losing in a case of drunken revelry was Heaven's Edge s/t debut.
After spending a lost week in a shore house rental back when I was single, I came home and discovered that the case was empty. I either lost or someone swiped the actual disc. Fortunatly, not long afterwards I found another copy at a flea market for like a buck or 2. Which is great because that disc goes for much higher on-line. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I lost disc 1 of the Aina album, Days of Rising Doom. I also can't find the CD for Baroness' Second EP.
Since the discs are missing, I'm assuming they're in another jewelcase somewhere. Instead of taking a bunch of CDs with me while out driving or whatever, I'd put multiple discs in one jewelcase. But where? I have nearly 10,000 CDs. I imagine I'll find them someday, but I'm sure as hell not going to look for them on purpose. Haha.

| I lost 2 Mortal discs and a MATW disc back in highschool. I found them a few years later when I moved out. They slid out of the notebook page and under my waterbed bladder. Totally trashed and useless. That was the last time that I stored my discs in notebooks. | |

| Only discs I've ever lost was when I was in college and this girl Gabby borrowed a couple of albums and then swore she returned them. She had earlier done the same routine to one of my roommates I came to find out. Anyway years later I live off campus and have a party. I stash my collection under the bed and at one point I find Gabby having slid them out and going through them. I remind her of before and stupidly I agree to let her borrow some on the condition we write out a contract and that I'll check off and she'll sign off when she returns them. One month later with said agreement in hand she still insists she returned them. And of course not long after I'm in the local record store and find my cds for sale. Luckily she wasn't into metal but unfortunately I was forced to re-buy my Mudhoney collection thanks to Gabby.
At one point she tried to friend me on facebook. Not happening, I'm still bitter about it. Most things I'll forgive and forget, messing with one's music collection isn't one of them.
