From the "Who the Hell asked for THIS?" file...
Here it is folks, just in time for the holidays... a 30 years too late, direct-to-video sequel to the holiday classic that didn't really need a sequel!!
Um.. wow, this looks godawful. Poor Daniel Stern. I hope he fires his agent soon.
The late Bob Clark (director of the original), Darren McGavin (the original "Old Man") and Jean Shepherd (author of the original story) are probably all doing 50,000 RPM's in their graves right now.

Oh my dear Lord. Words fail me. Please no one buy this so that the studio earns no money and maybe, just maybe, they'll learn their lesson.

Wow.......totally unnecessary.
There actually was a sequel made to A Christmas Story called It Runs In The Family with a totally different cast (including Charles Grodin as the Old Man) but directed by Bob Clark. It wasn't great and without the original actors,it just wasn't the same.

I have this on DVD as "A Summer Story". The cast is different but it is a decent movie. Jean Sheppard also narrates so it has the feel of the original. This was the original planned sequel that was supposed to be shot right after the first one but was scrapped when A Christmas Story bombed in theaters.
