i am not sure that is exactly true - FU sold 5,500 units in its first week. Before all this started, Dedicated to Chaos sold 8,000 in its initial week. King and Thieves sold less in its initial week - 1,800. You can try to find other reasons but in the end, even as people talk about him, they are buying his stuff less and less. _________________

| Bad press+good product=free promotion that is beneficial
Bad press+poor product=free promotion that only leads to you reading your name in print _________________

- Quick question for anyone who may have purchased "Frequency Unknown" and then taken Cleopatra Records up on that "free remixed CD" offer...
When you e-mailed them your receipt/proof of purchase for the CD, did you get an e-mail back from them showing that your message was received? Cuz I didn't. I was expecting to at least get an automated response ("Thank you for your message") kinda thing, but...nope.
Fabulous customer service, I must say.
I'm just curious, cuz my friend asked me "Hey did you get your remix CD yet?" and I was like "Ummm...no." I had totally forgotten that I'd even contacted them about it. Haha. It's been about a week since I e-mailed them. My freebie remix CD came in the mail today. Thanks, Geoff! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| The Geoff thinks a small group of people are running a smear campaign and are trying to "create" a personality for him....... and during this interview about his Mindcrime tour says that he is "not interest" in looking back.....
Umm..... The Geoff has been giving us more than enough to discuss without having to "create" a new personality for him.
GEOFF TATE Says That He Is The Victim Of An Internet 'Smear Campaign' - June 8, 2013
http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=191003
TheyWillRockYou.com: No matter what happens with the pending litigation regarding ownership of the name later this year, as a QUEENSRŸCHE fan, I can't see why others can't sit back and enjoy both and take each for what it is..new music. Why do you think fans feel the need to "take sides?"
Tate: Because we're in litigation (November court date is set to decide who has the right to use the QUEENSRŸCHE name: Geoff Tate or Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson and Scott Rockenfield), there is a concerted effort to create a personality for me, to try and create a smear campaign, really. They have a pretty sizable amount of people that are participating in that. If you do a little bit of research, you will find that most of the negative comments are coming from a small group of people that have multiple Internet sites and multiple Facebook sites. Multiple personalities are really arguing with themselves, in a sense. As Americans, we love our controversy
TheyWillRockYou.com: Is there a QUEENSRŸCHE album of material that you will simply not play live now or in the future?
Tate: I can't really think of one — not off hand. Honestly, I'm not that interested in looking back. I'm more focused in what's going on in the present. When you perform live, you kind of have to play material from the past, because that's what fans know the most. Your audience almost "tolerates" any new material in your set. Music needs time to sit with people. I try not to perform that many new songs in a set because the audience simply doesn't know them that well. I will probably wait a few years before you play it live. Gives the fans time to get a feel for it and understand it better. These songs off "Mindcrime" people have been listening to for 25 years now. It means more to them.

There is a guy permanently on the YouTube comments section posting under different names, who's mission in life is to ridicule Geoff Tate and anyone who dares to say that they like that song. There are lots of bands that I used to love who are now pretty crappy, there are loads of rock stars who I used to respect who have proven themselves to be douchebags. I just don't understand the level of hatred towards Tate. There is a certain famous rock drummer with a proven history of leaving the women in his life with fewer teeth than they had before he came along, and even he doesn't inspire that kind of hatred!! In fact Dave Holland gets less abuse and he did time for interfering with children!!

Yes, but The Geoff also has his nutswinggers whose mission to ridicule Queesnryche anytime something is posted on youtube, blabbermouth or anywhere on the internet. Once of them was recently outed as being Jason Slater. "Mr. Mish" on blabbermouth is a Tate ID and most of the posting under that name is done by GT's daughter, Miranda. Several other posters are part of The Geoff's organization who he pays to troll the boards. The guy is funding his own "smear" campaign against his former business partners..... the vast majority of what people are saying about Tate on the internet is because of his own actions. If you can't handle critics, then don't get on the stage. If you are a douche, you will be called out for it, especially in the internet age. That said, honestly, there are a few people out there getting their 15 minutes of fame with the anti-tater tot stuff. We have free speech in this country - these people have the same right to post and say what they want, just as much as GT does. Some of it is pretty darn funny. BTW - got the GT from when I met Eddie Jackson, he referred to Geoff as GT when ever someone asked him a question about it.

What did it for me was the epk video and how he thinks the last several qr CDs were fantastic and most of the fans are childish for wanting material like the older albums. _________________

| Tate seems to put way too much emphasis on what he wants people to think than what they actually do think. My problem stems with him continually insulting the intelligence of others, while painting a picture of himself that just doesn't jive. I wish somebody would take his crayons away from him or something. _________________ | |

| OK, so I listened to my freebie "remixed" version of F.U. a couple of times over the weekend... and honestly, I can't tell the diff between it and the supposedly "terrible" original mix. Either I don't have the trained ear for such things, or my audio equipment (i.e. the stereo in my truck) isn't high end enough for me to catch any subtle changes/nuances.
In other words, nothing jumped out at me and made me say "Oh yeah, that sounds totally different."
(Shrugs) Whatever. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

(Shrugs) Whatever. I felt the same way. The only difference I noticed the most was the re-recorded songs. The drums were different. _________________
