The vocals in this band don't really matter IMHO.
They're atonal and hardly catchy at all.
i'm not sure Nile was ever attempting to be "catchy" to begin with. but you're right, they do write good music.

Catchy is overrated.

But memorable isn't.
That's what I should have said.

Nile has tons of memorable riffs IMO but yeah death metal vocals are sort of just there to be "totally brutal" a lot of times.

One thing I could do without is a lot of the very rapid-fire verse vocals they do.... I enjoyed it when Morbid Angel did it, but..

Interesting, (a friend and I had a recent conversation about this) as the quicker paced vocals delivery is exactly what gets my attention--as compared to other BDM bands. The same is true with Hour of Penance. I love the vocal delivery. Again, that's why there is variety.

Yes. Brutal Death Metal. I've seen it used here before..wasn't trying to be tricky. Thought it was a standard abbrev. (<

Thanks for clearing that up. Also thought this was one of the better songs on the album:

Hmm, I'm liking Nile a ton more now, surprising. Guess I'm must be getting used to BDM! really wish more bands would use middle eastern influence like this though, all I can really name is Nile and Behemoth.
