When metal bands do acoustic versions of their heavy songs, what are your opinions? Me, I king of like it if it is done right. Pain of Salvation has done a great job of it. Even Evergrey had some cool new versions of it. What about bands that have yet to do an acoustic set? Which bands do you think would sound cool acoustic?

Generally speaking, I like it. Some bands do it better than others, but overall I don't have a problem with metal or rock bands playing their stuff acoustically. Gives it another dimension.
Although to be fair, most of the acoustic stuff I've heard has come from the hard rock end of the spectrum moreso than metal.

There's a band called Ancient VVIsdom you may like. They recently re-issued their album A Godlike Inferno through Prosthetic Records. It's acoustic stuff. But if you're not into black metal style lyrics then you might want to avoid them. But if you dig bands like Ghost and The Devil's Blood you'll probably like this band.

Tesla knocked it out of the park when they released the 5 man acoustic jam, obviously set the standard and started trend.
Would have/would love to hear a Pantera acoustic set/album. Bet it would have been amazing.

Acoustic Verses is a great album, one of my favorites all-time. One the other hand, an album like Acoustic Archives by Tourniquet never clicked with me.

It really depends on the band and how it's arranged. Acoustic guitars can be heavy as hell, so it's not impossible by any stretch.
I saw King's X do an entire acoustic show once (unplanned, Ty's guitar rig blew up) that was every bit as impressive as any of the other shows I saw.

I remember reading somewhere years ago that Death Angel was said to have an acoustic side project called The Past, but I never heard anything more than that. I was looking forward to it as I enjoyed their acoustic work on records like Act III.

I generally hate acoustic renditions of Metal songs. No thanks. Of course, as soon as I post this I'll remember ten acoustic versions that I love.

Wino does a killer acoustic cover of Motorhead's "Iron Horse". From the acoustic album "Adrift", which I highly recommend.

One of the Kings X show I attended years ago was billed as an acoustic set, but they played fully powered up, don't know why?
And speaking of "heavy as hell" those Days Of A NEw albums are sure heavy and mostly if not all acoustic.

LOL, yes, I know what you mean. Some of them are bad, but when you are not thinking of it the best of the best come to your head and you'll be like "Damn it, I just said these suck!" lol
Thank you for adding good sir
