| The library in town is having their annual Book Sale this week and I scored a coupla CDs for a buck a pop:
Heart - DOG & BUTTERFLY (1978) and JUPITERS DARLING (2004)
ELP - THE BEST OF EMERSON LAKE & PALMER (Dunno much about this band but I had to have it cuz Greg Lake's "I Believe in Father Christmas" is the last track and I looooove hearing that song during the holiday season...) _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

I almost bought this on bluray the other day, but I hesitated, asking myself 'how could it be any better than Flight 666?'. Is it worth it?? Thanks. Yesterday I bought these CDs at my local Rasputin, used/complete, for $9.99 each: Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind ('98 Remaster) Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time ('98 Remaster) I'm starting to buy all of the Remastered Maiden CDs. These two are the first.

| The "Iron Maiden" remasters are TERRIBLE, compressed, brickwalled garbage - I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.
The 90s Castle CDs and the original US are preferable, the best are the original Japanese CDs and the original vinyl.

Yes. I know, and I totally agree with you. But I already own all the Castle/US originals on CD. I'm just collecting all the Remasters to have in my collection. Plus, the new booklets with their lovely photos are hella sweet! :]

Apparently another one of those things only dogs, audiophiles and S.D. can hear...they sound fine to me. _________________ FINAL SIGN

Bite me. Not being able to hear minute, digital imperfections like someone such as yourself (what I like to call "bat ears") does not mean I don't care about quality. _________________ FINAL SIGN

Seeing some of your purchases from the $1 bin makes me question your ability to judge quality. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Well... Not choosing sides here.. But I think the Remasters sound a bit better when it comes to Iron Maiden ('80) & Killers ('81). Those two, in particular, had very low sound quality on the original CD/vinyl pressings. I mean, even Steve Harris, himself, wasn't satisfied with how those two albums came out sounding, originally. | |

I never do either!!! make it three. I dont hear a huge difference from the 2003 Dio remaster this new one. That one I can tell a huge difference - the new remaster so clear to me, the cymbals sound like actual cymbals to me, my son is taking drum lessons so I know what a real, live cymbal sounds like and that's what they sound like to me on the new remaster. Dio's vocals sound so clear and life like on the new one.
