Overkill Compilation Question? Empty
PostSubject: Overkill Compilation Question?   Overkill Compilation Question? Icon_minitimeSun Apr 15, 2012 3:48 am

Back in 2002, there was a 2 CD compilation released called "Hello From The Gutter-The Best of Overkill".

Does anyone know if there are any tracks exclusive to this release? I have all of Overkill's studio releases, live albums, the Coverkill album and the "F*** You ... And Some" compilation with the original ep and some live tracks.

I haven't got the compilation cd that I've asked about, and there is limited information about it on the 'Net.

Here's the front cover: Overkill Compilation Question? Images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSACzaz4GqOrAK4Z7i0P-a_Yc5XKXoi17YiZ4WlXadT8GtFyEW1

I have it and there's nothing exclusive on it. It's a mixture of studio and live recordings from various albums but there are huge holes in the song selection because the label that issued it did not have access to the albums issued on Atlantic records. It's an okay comp but if you have the other albums, there's not much point to it.

Thanks for the info, Witchfinder. Much appreciated. Smile

Yes, I have all the other albums, so I won't go out of my way to look for it.

A proper Overkill compilation would be awesome. Far too often do we see obscure labels putting out incomplete or poorly advised compilations for classic bands.

Nice idea in theory, but seeing all the different labels the band has been through, it would be a legal/logistical nightmare obtaining all the rights.

And with a band as prolific as Overkill, even putting out a double dsic best of, folks (mostly us right here) would complain that "[track X] shoulda been on there, instead of [track Y] and [track Z]. Razz
