Didn't even realize they had a new album coming (released today). Possessed By Fire and Rising From The Sea are two of my long time favorites. Last time I checked up on them they claimed they were working on new stuff and I was about to order a Rising From The Sea shirt from their site. Then the site disappeared. Figured they called it a day.
Sounds pretty good to me for a band with 25 years between releases.

Sounds good to me. I had no idea they were coming out with new material either.
I actually bought it today and have been listening to it. Mem von Stein has plenty of anger in his vocals even if he can't pull off the high screams he did back in the day. It has nothing to offer in the way of originality, but it sounds like Exumer and that is of much greater importance to me hehe. I'm definitely happy to finally have this in my collection. However, Possessed By Fire shall forever remain their magnum opus.

Not big fan of the artwork, I'll stick to first two offerings.

I think I said this shortly after I first got done listening to the whole thing. While I still stand behind everything I said here, you pretty much get the sense that I liked it but didn't love it. Well, I was listening to it a lot that night and the more I listened to it the more I enjoyed it. So yes, if you are a German thrash fan, be sure to give this album a listen.
I love Slayer-esque rhythms !!! been listening to DEMIRICOUS - 'One Hellbound' the other day (the Death Metal version of Slayer) and it gave me some good trippin'....F & D is a good album but Not sure if this one has a long-term replay value though, vocals doesn't impress me that much, too monotonous.

Same production as all the DESTRUCTION albums since they reformed (only METAL DISCHARGE was a little different), KREATOR last albums, ONSLAUGHT last albums etc...I dont care because its a sound i like but i prefere the old thrash sound, the real and underground one. Still i like this new song, it has a THE EXPLOITED touch to it from BEAT THE BASTARD era strange enough and even some AGNOSTIC FRONT grooves. Strange. I will buy this if its released on vinyl. Will look good next to my other EXUMER albums lol.

I had really high expectations for this. Probably too high. I do like the record though. Like it, but don't love it like the other two. I will say I find it is the kind of album that picks up steam once it gets going a few songs. Sure there is a same-y-ness to it but I find it builds nicely as it goes.
I was doing some shopping yesterday and came across this album. I didn't pick it up, but I noticed they they have reissued their first two releases as well. According to what I read online they have been remastered. Just curious if anyone has picked these up and what they sound like? I was lucky enough to find Possessed by Fire a couple of years back that was reissued by Maximum Metal/High Vaultage Records. I thought it sounded fine, so I'm really in no rush to do a double dip.
I like the cd quite a bit my only problem the songs are to short!

I have the first reissues too. I would bite on a double dip at a cheap price just for the three demo tracks. But I'm in no hurry to rush out immediately and get them. Both are great albums.
Fire & Damnation has grown into one of my favorites this year. Nowhere near the greatness of the earlier two but with that long of layoff it's a pretty damn good comeback record.

Played this album today in the car. Still good. I need to buy the band's earlier catalogue.

I also grabbed a demo compilation that was released a couple of years back.

Haven't played raging tides in quite a while. Definitely need to give it a fresh spin. Have a long drive south tomorrow so this one will be my trip companion.
