- If anyone is longing to hear Axl's warble, try the new Sebastian Bach album, Angel Down. Not only does Axl do a fine job on the 3 tunes where he shares the mic with Bas, the entire cd is great. The music is heavy and Sebastian's voice is in fine form. Much better than his last solo cd.
We cranked out the Back in the Saddle cover at the hockey game last weekend as the team took the ice after being on the road. The crowd seemd to dig it. I had one guy on our crew ask me "Dude, is that Axl Rose? What rock did they find him under?" Agreed, Bach's new CD is pretty damn good stuff. The production is kinda muddy though.
A while ago on Blabbermouth, some wise guy commented under a GNR post that "The new GNR has already been released... it's a 3-song EP called ANGEL DOWN, the rest of the tracks are sung by some other guy," hahaha you americans crack me up

| Who cares? It will be a bunch of sheep running out to throw down thier hard earned cash for a piece of crap. Just retire that band already. They did what they did. Let's move on. They are the most sickening "band" on the face of the planet. Can we go a week without bringing up this garbage? ps - AXL is Satan. |

| hhahaha This band is beyond lame!!!! I used to get into physical fights because of this band and its amazing to me that people even like them. I'd like their listeners to go through scientific brain scans to see if there are screws loose or just malfunctioning during the time their songs come on. | |

| Guns 'n' Roses are beyond over rated. They have released 3 full lengths, and they became one of the biggest acts around after their first release. It is so unfair, that bands like Metallica, Anthrax, etc. really had to fight hard to get the recognision they deserved, while some rock band like Guns 'n' Roses release one album, the mainstream eat it up, and they are one of the biggest acts around, and the music does not even hold a candle to say, ...And Justice for all. | |

| IMO all of their stuff is crap. But just like Marlboro cigarettes, Tide Detergent, Pizza Hut Pizza, everyone loves to be like everyone else and they flock to a "brand name" like sheep. One guy decided that GNR was good and the world followed. That guy was wrong. Sadly. |

| Appetite is still one of the best albums ever, IMO. And if you take the best songs from Use Your Illusions I and II, you have another album to rival them.
That being said, G'n'R is beyond dead, in my mind. I'd like to hear another Slash's Snakepit, but nothing cound induce me to spend one thin dime on Chinese Democracy, should it ever actually get released.
I agree about Angel Down, though. Some good songs there.

Yes...and that would make two albums. Seriously, no albums are so good, that two can be enough for the fame Guns 'n' Roses achieved. Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All, The Black Album (above Appetite for Destruction, in my opinoin).
...if you would take the best from the "Loads", I'd say you would have more than competent rival to Guns 'n' Roses' catalogue.

| I would say that Metallica has always been "bigger" than Guns 'n' Roses anyways, so I don't see where the controversy is. | |

| Hey Guns N' Roses haters, you don't have to release a string of 5-6 good albums to be recognised as great. If you came and released one amazing record, thats enough. Longevity ain't everything. Case in point the Sex Pistols released only one true album and its classic, the band is classic. No one denies that. Guns N' Roses had something special going on for a short period that Anthrax or whoever you want to name never had, cold hard point! Overrated, not in the slightest. As for Chinese Democracy it will just be an exploration of Axl's Queen fantasies, grandiose and epic in the way of the 'Use Your Delusions!' albums. I ain't going to be rushing out for it. He should just give up and team up with his musical soul brother Izzy Stradlin, and make a back to their roots rock n' roll album. | |

| Yeah, I pretty much agree with rattpoison. Some bands just release that 'classic' album, irrelevant of how expansive their discography is.
I personally think that Appetite and both the Use Your Illusions are fantastic rock albums and pretty much show why GN'R get the credit they do. The Spaghetti Incident was very poor, however. Chinese Democracy sounds sort of interesting from what I've listened to, but it's far from GN'R. I caught the "new GN'R" at Download Festival back in 2006 and they put on a great show, and the new songs they played went down well. Hilariously, the weakest link was Axl, whose voice is getting very weak. When Seb Bach came on for My Michelle, he completed upstaged Axl.
Where was I go with this? Uhm, Guns N' Roses are a fantastic rock band. Yeah. _________________

It's pretty damn good, that's for sure. I like the songs that were not singles more than the singles though. That being said, I no longer care about him. He was the biggest jerk ever when I saw the Metallica - GNR tour. I stopped liking him that day. |

I second that! ...I think, correct me if I am wrong, but the show in Montreal, where James got burnt, Axl just "didn't feel like playing", and just told the crowd that he had a sore throat...and at another show, someone threw something up on stage, because they were over 20 minutes late, and he just walked off stage...what a pussy. I think he was one of those late-coming, skinny kids as a teenager, who got beat up - ...now, he is making up for past loss, because of his "power". What an idiot

I'm guessing it was over 20 minutes. We had a 3 hour wait in New Orleans to see this clown. Then he comes out, and he's mad because so many left, and the ones who stayed were half asleep. He was cussing at us, and telling us to wake up. What a jerk. |

This is true! I agree - a band can be legendary for one album and that's what GnR did with Appetite. If you don't like that kind of metal - so be it. But in their element GnR's Appetite is simply one of the best ever. Sometimes artists get big for strange lemming/sheep related reasons. American Idol has proven that over and over. Sometimes artists get big because for a moment in time they were simply incredible. That's how Appetite is for me. It doesn't sound dated and the songs stand up very well 20 years later. I agree with however said the best songs are the ones NOT on the airwaves...

| I did like "Appetite" I just think it's overhyped. Hell, had I not heard "It's So Easy" while I was over a friends, I probably wouldn't of even picked it up because I had had it with all the "Sweet Child" bs at the time. "Chinese Democracy" is just going to be another piece. Let's face it, when it came to solid albums, it wasn't their forte. You had "Appetite" and "Lies" which were their best, the Illusions are so full of filler it's ridiculous.
As for metallica, they've ALWAYS been quite popular, not mainstream, but definately always popular. I've always personally never really liked them all that much with the exception of Ride and Kill, and IMO master of puppets is one of the most overhyped metal albums in history.
