I love Aeronautics, might be the perfect Euro metal album. MK II is great, I love Mike's vocals but everything comes together on Aero.

From the moment I picked that album up (a blind buy from the now long gone metal metropolis that was Virgin Megastore) and stuck it in my player I never stopped listening to it. That album along with Allen/Lande-The Battle introduced me to the amazing Jorn Lande. It remains one of my favorite metal albums of all time and one of my favorite albums to sing along to (I've never read the lyrics but I've listened to it so much, I don't have to).

I think the same. I like Aeronautics but it was missing what the first album had. MKII was good but I didn't like all the songs and Time To Be King.....I really don't know. I listened to it and was dissapointed with it cause Jorn was back so I was hoping for more of the first album but it wasn't. Some songs have came up on shuffle from time to time and I have liked them so I really just need to give it some more listens but yea I don't think they will ever top the first album.

The debut was good but there's a couple songs I felt were throwaway. I agree about Time to be King, decent songs but not memorable.

Out of curiosity, how many of you who choose the debut had that as their first Masterplan experience? Being one who had Aeronautics first could explain why I prefer it over the debut. First impressions are usually the strongest.

I did.

But I don't think that's why I chose it. I just think the songs are stronger, catchier.

I think you might be on to something there, DallasBlack. I also tend to prefer the first album I hear from a band.

I heard the first album first, and it was really good, I just think they're tighter on Aeronautics, better songwriting in some respects.

I thought the S/T was more of a rockin album than Aeronautics. I also think the song with Kiske was outstanding.
