| Have you ever found a better artwork file for an album on your iPod? Simply replace and re-sync, right? Wrong. Often times when you re-sync your iPod after an artwork change, you see no change at all. To ensure the change actually takes, you need to make another change that your iPod will actually recognize, such as Genre. Once you've done that, sync your iPod, then change the genre back to what you want it to be, re-sync and voila! You're all set. _________________ http://www.steinhausmastering.com

| For a song to be fully 'edit-able' in iTunes all you have to do is right click on the song (or ctrl+A ) >go to Properties > and uncheck the 'READ ONLY' option box under attributes
A READ-ONLY song is the only reason why you can't edit it as for the cover art, there are instances where a particular jPeg doesn't 'adhere' to the album selected, all you have to do is copy/paste the jpeg from another source until it works, simple as that

| never had a problem like that. sometimes my ipod gets album art mixed up but im blaming that on me dropping it a few times. If I do change the artwork I just do it straight from the ipod in itunes. I just right click on what I want to change and paste the new artwork. _________________ | |

| Phoenix...that's exactly what I do. But when I sync, it doesn't actually update the artwork. I have to change the genre, sync, change the genre back and re-sync and I'm all set. _________________ http://www.steinhausmastering.com

| You might want to reset that iPod if it's not updating correctly.

| I always find my own album art as iTunes usually gets it wrong or can't find artwork. It also helps with backing up as it will stay with the files. When adding them back into the iTunes library (if my computer hard drive was to fail for instance), the artwork will automatically be there. | |

| That's exactly what I do. I never, EVER load my albums with downloaded artwork. Always artwork that I have files on my hard drive for. I've had two iPod classics (80 gig and 160 gig) and they both have the same issue described in the first post of this thread. _________________ http://www.steinhausmastering.com

| I don't mess with the artwork or any of the settings since years back I re-set my ipod and it deleted everything. Actually I think it was restore to factory settings that did it. Even dumber on my part was somebody had warned me about doing that not long before I went ahead and did it anyway. | |

| Artwork takes up too much space. Once I deleted the artwork, I had plenty of room for more tunes on my classic 80 gigger.
I want to get the classic 160 gig, but I have heard that there have been issues with it.

| Artwork is very important to me. Taking the time to have my cover art really well done for my iPod was what helped me make the transition from physical cds to digital files. I have had no problems with my 160 gig iPod. _________________ http://www.steinhausmastering.com

If you don't want the pictures to take up too much room on your ipod just find the smaller pictures online and copy and paste them. The larger the picture file the more room its going to take up. Most of not all of my pictures were taken from ones that were 300 X 300. I have over 33,000 songs on my ipod. Im actually starting to take off live albums because I'm out of space. Everything I own is in my Ipod even box sets so I have a lot of double songs and I don't even know how many doubles, triples, qaudrupal versions of Iron Maiden songs so I own just about all of their live albums. _________________
