I am still amazed at how great he played at US 83'. His first show with Ozzy. I had seen him play with Ratt before that gig, but didn't realize it was him (the same guy) at the time. I almost picked Jake, but Vivian was my choice. Barely ! _________________

| I picked George Lynch but was torn between him and Jake E Lee. Both are phenomenal. | |

| Gotta go with Lynch. He's been my favorite since I was 14. Jake E. Lee is a close second. | |

| I like Lynch's playing alot too. It's just everybody started playing those scales in So Calif. after awhile. It was kinda/sorta the same way when Yngwie broke big. You could drive down the street or whatever and hear "arpeggio's" coming from bedroom windows and garages.
Vivian could take off on a dime but had an organic feel to his playing as well. _________________

| I went with Brad. I've always liked the way he used his whammy bar. You always knew that it was him. | |

| Mick Mars. In 1983, I had every riff, and every note from his solos, memorized, just like I previously had with Ace Frehley. | |

| Yngwie was exciting during his first 2 albums or so. After that he never really bothered to challenge himself to do something new and expand his horizons, he was good but in terms of sheer creativity, he never laid something new and fresh on the table, it's always these patterned repetitive cliches that always sounded the same showcasing his ever-present machine gun staccattos and sweep picks.
Approaching the 1990 a new hungry batch of Neo-classical shredders emerged, the likes of Tony MacAlpine, Jason Becker and Vinnie Moore, you could only wish Yngwie should've excerted a little bit of effort to improve his style a bit

Steeler's Hot On Your Heels just blew me away. I had never really heard anything like it before. Just amazing.

| I was torn between Jake E. Lee, George Lynch, Warren De Martini and even Yngwie, as a kid, Yngwie made a huge impact on me, but I went with Jake E. Lee because he was an early favorite of mine back in the big 80's | |

CRISS OLIVA (Savatage-Sirens 1983) I knew I forgot someone, believe it or not I like Criss better than who I chose. I just havn't been listening to much older Savatage lately. Out of sight, out of mind I suppose ? _________________
