Sure, when comparing two different albums that is sometimes how I make my decision, but in some other cases it is the overall approach or atmosphere that makes me choose one album over the other. | |

| Hell Awaits for me. The band really came into their own on that record. | |

| Two for Slayer sucks, but no explanation or comments to that effect.
Pretty much what I figured. I know most people preferred "Hell Awaits" over the debut. I'm sure my nostalgic liking of the debut stems from it being the album that I first discovered the band. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

Judging by the history of Slayer threads on this board, I'd be wiling to bet the "Slayer sucks" responses are from people who take their lyrics a little too seriously... I was expecting Show No Mercy to win out actually, I'm pleasantly surprised by the outcome, though I dig both albums. I actually would have voted for the Haunting The Chapel EP if that had been an option, that was my first Slayer album and still a favorite. |

I say "DEFEND YOURSELVES!! MAKE KNOWN YOUR DISDAIN FOR YE SLAYER OR PERISH IN THE THE PIT OF THE SARLACC TO BE DIGESTED FOR A MILLENNIUM!!" _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Hell Awaits for me. It was this album where they seemed to truly capture a more aggressive sound. Plus At Dawn They Sleep is one of my favorite Slayer songs. | |

| Show No Mercy gets my vote by a very slim margin. Love 'em both, but I reach for Show No Mercy more often. | |
