Well, I've had this for a couple months and I think it's safe for me to finally say...yuck. I was really disappointed with this latest Becoming the Archetype album.

Terminate Damnation was amazing, they lost me on Physics of Fire and then once again I was amazed with Dichotomy. And so, the pattern is complete.

The keyboards are just SOOOOO overdone in every song on Celestial Completion, the singing/harmonizing vocals sound terrible to my ears...it's just really strange to me. I've tried and I've tried to like this one. It just ain't happening.

Does anybody else have this? Thoughts?

Note: apparently Jason Wisdom (vocalist) has left the band and they intend to move on with some new guy they already have picked out and worked with.

My brother was a fan of this band and I thought Terminate Damnation was pretty cool. A while back we looked up a video from this album; all I can say is: what happened? Even my brother who is a lot more open-minded with music than me was disgusted.

So if the vocalist left, are there any original members even still in the band? Should they even be using that name?

Seth is still in the band. And he actually writes all the music. In fact, if I remember right, he has a degree in Classical Music. He's the guitarist and keyboard/pianist going back to the beginning. But yeah, like you, for me it will be hard to think of them as BTA without the original vocalist.

Album was nothing short of crap. everything but the vocals felt borderline metalcore. What happened between this and the single from 09?

Dude, I've been asking the same darn question. When that single came out, I got so excited. Then I got the album at Christmas and was like....WTH happened!!???

Terminate Damnation is the standard by which all other albums will be measured, and I also didn't like The Physics of Fire, but I'm enjoying Celestial Completion. No complaints from me. It's not Terminate Damnation, but I like it well enough.

This. TD along with Dichotomy are what they will always be measured by, but Celestial Completion is still a good listen for me.

I tried to like this band since they came out. Can't do it.
